To what extent do most people lose memory when drinking?I suspect that people say they lose memory alot more than they do and infact they use it as a tardational excuse, as if it absolves them from kissing a girl they wouldnt admit to looking at or something. I was at a mates house with a few guys afetr being at some clubs in town last night, and my mate was like "I wont remember anything in the morning", but by this time we were all more or less sober and I couldnt understand how he could forget everything in the morning. maybe its just soemthing that doesnt happen much to me? Happened to me just once, but that was when I had a stupid amount in a incredibly small mount of time when I was like 15, and it was only an hour or so I didnt rememebr, not a whole night.

Alcohol and forgetfullness

I've never forgotten anything I've done while drinking. Not even a tiny bit.Mostly because im not stupid enough to drink till I throw up, pas out, can't remember things etc.I've never thrown up from booze yet. I drink till I'm in a "rolling round of the floor everythings hallerious, I can't talk very well" and then just stop.Im not a dumbass and I know my limits. I don't think it's a good idea to put yourself in a vunerable position around other people, especially people you don't know.I think people pretend they don't remember or say they won't to warrent bad behaviour. It's stupid.

I started throwing up fairly recently after two beers and a little over half a glass of whisky. I thought I could take more than that, but my stomach proved otherwise. Eh, at least my stomach stops me before I can have any more than that. There's a few things I don't remember too clearly, although I can account for anything significant that happened. Me playing the piano while like that... now that was funny. I laughed when I heard the recording.

Ahh, well you see I was blessed with a very strong stomach. It takes a hell-of-alot to make me throw up.the closest I came resentley is my sister said she bet I can't scull (or chug or what ever the americans call it) a bottle of beer. I deffinatly won that bet but, I hate beer, it's revolting so I felt very very sick after. And the time before that as part of a drinking game, I had to drink a shot of gin mixed with a tablespoon of instant coffee and some other bullshit. Which I did, but I felt very sick after that as well. ick shivers

I've had a few freinds who not only say it but experience it. Not that they forget the whole evening, more that they get drunk enough at some point in the evening that they do lose memory of a few hours. Of course given the antics they get up to maybe it is more they forget because they don't want to remember anything they did - hehe.

My ex girlfriend was an alcoholic. She is now sober, but she says once you become an alcoholic, you get blackouts quite frequently. At least this was the case with her.
-
I know a few people who've claimed that. It's possible that they're fooling themselves, but I see no reason to disbelieve them.
-
Yeah, that's how I feel.

I've never forgotten a single thing drunk, i know a lot of people who apparently have, alcohol fucks with ur brain so its vary possible you can forget stuff when drunk as people react differently, i tend to think people just use it as an excuse for waking up beside some heffer the next morning,

To what extent do most people lose memory when drinking?I have an uncle who drinks way too much. He can't hold his liquor. He never forgot anything though. Even when he came home smelling like he was bathed in alcohol he actually remembered things pretty well. But there was one time that he forgot I was his neice and thought he was back in 1944. He had moments when he'd think he was in 1944. It happened constantly but it's stopped since 2 years ago.
