Usually it's safe after 1 month...BUT... oral contraceptives are 99.9% safe "if used correctly". Take that as you wish. If you are not ready to have kids, then be careful.

I was on the pill when I got pregnant with my first and third child and i was using it correctly, so as sdp said its not 100% safe..........but for most people it works, but be aware of the risk.

ok well to go with what u said did the father of those children pull out of you or cum inside you?

safe from what? pregnancy or STDs?if you are only worried about pregnancy, then waiting 7 days would have been long enough for the pill to reach its full effect. however, the pill has a typical failure rate of 8% per year, so continuing to use condoms in addition to the pill would be wise. using both condoms and the pill brings the failure rate down to 1.2% per year. combining the pill with withdrawl would give you a failure rate of 1.68% per year. its really a matter of what you consider to be an acceptable risk.as for STDs, the pill does NOT protect against those, and niether will withdrawl. if you or your partner might have an STD you need to continue using condoms, or get both of yourselves tested.
