I think the answer is yes. They are downward compatible. I'll look on the box when I get to work since I bought one a few weeks ago.
From what I got out of some reading, an 802.11b wireless card can communicate with an 802.11g WAP. I'm not sure why it wouldn't work the other way around, but it is a legitament question.
Yeah, I looked on the box and yes it is downward compatible. However, I think I remember seeing cards out there in the store which are solely 802.11g compatible. I don't think a 802.11g will talk to a 802.11a though but that standard is pretty dead.
I tried wardriving with an 802.11g wireless card and picked up quite a few WAPs. Chances are most of them are 802.11b APs. Thanks.
