The slowness problem won't be fixed until the server is replaced (informed's plan), or at least until the old server gets some software adjustments (and maybe hardware adjustments as well, in the form of more RAM (memory)).

How would you like the boards improved?
-
It seems to come and go. If you disable Java and/or JavaScript you may not see it.
-
looks around still voting for the art section...like that will happen
-
i got tired of PMing the memebers of the chit chat board so i'll just say it here and maybe the rest of the CCB members will see it (and maybe some new ones lol) 1st the link to it. > as for the art section .....well i gave up on that lol i gave up on the CCB too but well.. there were a few members still using it so, i remade it. (kinda)

Well... In all honesty.. I know I am bad about droning on about stuff(I apologize).. However, I do feel that after a few replies topics tend to die.. sometimes prematurely..
-
Well that's really the order of the forums, newer topics are added to the top. Who here is right to judge if someone's topic is important enough to stay at the top, or is unimportant enough to allow it to sink?
-
Eh.. I am not saying anyone should decide anything.. I am just saying sometimes something is posted.. then an answer might be unclear.. or require further explaination.. or anything like that..And then.. its just.. sits there.. going stagnant. New topics go to the New topic pane right on the side of the board. I don't think it hurts to look at topics slightly older then those.. Especially if they are still relevent..
-
Well its advised that people do a search before they post new topics, just in case its been discussed before (which in most cases, it probably has). But very few people actually do that. But if someone's thread starts disappearing, they are welcomed to bump it up again if they have a genuine reason to do so.

The topic of religion is discussed a lot on this forum, and it seems to always result in ruffled feathers, particularly on the part of the believers. I suggest that two new forums be created, perhaps called Debate Faith and Faith Support and Admiration. That way, people of faith who don't want to be challenged can avoid the former, and people who don't believe and want to tell you why can stay out of the latter. It is interesting that this site is administered by two men of faith, yet some believers see it as a hotbed of disrespectful atheistic opinion mongering.

This isn't intended as a forum that is primarily about religion. However, since religion is deeply involved in how people see and cope with life, it is bound to get mentioned from time to time. The problem is that religious discussions here have always resulted in much heat but little light. The most fruitful attitude in the end, it seems to me, is one where people can say what they believe when relevant, without others trying to change their opinion, no matter how mistaken they may consider it. I would urge that attitude on all.I think your suggestion of separate forums, HCl, while an attractive idea, might require more self-discipline in keeping out of forums than it is realistic to expect.

There's no changing the forums.. you're stuck with what you've got.
-
how about a notification next to "my stuff" when someone replies to your post.
-
refer the the post above yours...
-
then what's the point of this thread?
-
It's not about the physical implementation of the website and how it is layed out.
