I knew somebody was going to mention that. Foul language is a grey area in my book...but something to be generally avoided, in my opinion. If it means anything to you, personally, I haven't used that word (until now) since I've been posting in forums in over 5 years. I doubt the person I was responding to can make that claim. And because the person asking the question was doing so from a religious point of view, I found the response in question to be in particularly bad taste. I'm wondering why you didn't pick up on that, yet decided to say something to me about what I said...?
-
IS it?
-
I pointed it out because is soo many threads you say how you're a Christian but all in the same breath in this post you tell someone to "fuck off", I just found it very hypocritical. Where as the person who said “who cares” does not make the same claim as you, see the difference?Point being, a very interesting observation I suppose, and though I am a Christian myself I find it funny when other Christians try and knock on me for being homosexual and yet they do rude and ignorant things like tell someone to “fuck off”. Not exactly Christian-like.
-
Foul language is not spoken of in the Bible. Some would point to the word "profanity", but after having read about this several times I'm not sure about it...hence my defining it as a grey area......but......for someone who's an openly practicing homosexual to comment on anothers behavior as a Christian IS blantantly hypocritical. The Bible IS quite clear on how God views the act of homosexual sex.
-
Oh good lord... I LOVE how you twist the bible around so it fits YOUR lifestyle and practices. Way to give Christians a bad name.
-
OK...I'm sure you're familiar with this already, but since you insist, here it is again:"Leviticus 18 [22] Thou shalt not lie with mankind, as with womankind: it is abomination."This was God speaking to Moses. Pretty cut and dry if you ask me. Just remember, you're the one who opened up this can of worms.

Give me something from the new testiment and we'll talk. You don't live your life by the old testiment. If we went by all the laws in the old testiment, women wouldn't be teachers or preachers for that matter. Do I need to get that list back out again? And you are the one judging me Christian, just remember that. Remember the "Thou shall not judge" ?
-
Christ fulfilled the law...he did not abolish it. IF (and I'm beginning to realize it's a pretty big "if") you decide to read ALL of the Bible for yourself, you'd have already read Christ's own words to that effect in it. The basis of the law still applies today, and it is a good guideline for behavior. For example, I don't think practicing homosexuals should be stoned, but neither do I think God thinks there's somehow magically nothing wrong with it today. God doesn't change his mind in that way. You wanted my opinion, now you've got it.As for judging, you need to go back and study the Bible (mounting evidence suggests you seriously need to before talking about it). The meaning of the phrase you quote from is that you must first judge yourself in an issue before judging somebody else in it...NOT that you should never judge at all. This goes along with removing the plank in your eye before trying to remove the mote from the eye of another. Note that there is a difference between judging somebody and passing judgement on somebody. The latter is reserved for God alone. Now that we've got that straight...I am not a homosexual, much less a practicing one, so am not in violation of anything you quoted. I suggest you do a little serious research of your own before getting back to me on this one.

I personally think you need to get off your high horse. You made a mistake by saying, "Fuck off" to someone and here you are trying to push it on me. You claim to be this great Christian, well sorry a great Christian doesn't say "fuck off' to people nor do they try and push it on someone else. Christians when they make a mistake they own up to the mistake, not call it a gray area to make themselves feel better for their actions.
As for the IF I read the bible, I have read the bible. Most of the bible are the prophets speaking for God, not to mention most of the Old Testaments were stories told down from generation to generation before written down. PLUS there were many things in the New Testament that corrected many things in the Old Testament.
>For example, I don't think practicing homosexuals should be stoned, but neither do I think God thinks there's somehow magically nothing wrong with it today. God doesn't change his mind in that way. You wanted my opinion, now you've got it.
So we should go ahead and remove all women leaders, teachers and pastors from their positions than? If god doesn't change his mind on things than there are a lot of people leading pretty bad lives. There are a lot of women going against Gods laws...
>As for judging, you need to go back and study the Bible (mounting evidence suggests you seriously need to before talking about it).
Because you practice it so well huh?
>The meaning of the phrase you quote from is that you must first judge yourself in an issue before judging somebody else in it...NOT that you should never judge at all.
Really now? Because I was always taught, through my church, that one should never judge another human being for that is Gods job. I certainly don't see anywhere in the bible where it gives exceptions when its okay to judge someone. Kind of goes along with "Let he who has not sinned cast the first stone". Everyone sins, so no one has the right to cast judgment on another person.
>I am not a homosexual, much less a practicing one, so am not in violation of anything you quoted.
LOL! So let me guess this right. Because you are not a homosexual you have the right to cast judgment upon me?? WOW!! And you say I need to go read the bible. So because I am not black it's okay for me to slander a black person? What about since I am not heterosexual am I allow to cast judgment upon a straight person? Again... WOW! Sounds to me like you are trying to find loopholes in the bible that don't exist.
>I suggest you do a little serious research of your own before getting back to me on this one.
Really? After everything you stated here... I think you are the one who needs to do a little research or at least talk with a pastor because you really have a lot of misunderstanding about he bible. I personally don't care that you dislike I am gay and you think I am going to hell, means nothing to me. It's not you who will let me through the gates to heaven, but when you misinterpret the bible with some wild notions, that's what I have issues with.

Have you ever read Matthew and the Sermon on the Mount? It's all about compassion for one's fellow man. It says nothing about being a hard-ass social Darwinian right winger, endlessly judging the bahvoir of others. Do you really think you're prepared to cast the first stone? You, as the person behind your posts, don't strike me as anything like what Jesus described. Can you imagine His telling someone to fuck off? It's interesting how Christians pick and choose which part of the Old Testament they follow. There are so many sanctions about eating the wrong foods in the wrong combinations (I believe the word "abomination" appears), women being unclean at certain times, the various infractions for which one could be stoned to death, and so on.Meanwhile, it seems pretty reasonable that the things that most concerned Jesus were the things he discussed, no? He didn't say anything about masturbation or homosexulity. It's not like he was at a loss for words. He seemed to have said quite a bit.But back to the pick-and-choose Testament, Leviticus 15: 16-18 says:In reply to:16 And if any man’s seed of copulation go out from him, then he shall wash all his flesh in water, and be unclean until the even.17 And every garment, and every skin, whereon is the seed of copulation, shall be washed with water, and be unclean until the even.18 The woman also with whom man shall lie with seed of copulation, they shall both bathe themselves in water, and be unclean until the even.It sounds to me like God's talking about sloppy intercourse. I don't see the word "masturbation" in there. God liked to speak in riddles, but it seems like a stretch to say that that passage is about either of the two current American Christian obsessions: homosexuality and masturbation. Anyway, it looks like if you spill your seed on your partner, a quick bath will make everything right. You arrogantly think you're going to ascend to heaven while the rest of us are left behind? Look in the mirror. I wouldn't be so sure if I were you. Now, back to stoning adultresses...

You made the mistake of opening up a can of worms. I stand by what I said...and have never claimed to be the "great Christian" as you perport. But I WILL tell you that there is a difference between being a follower of Christ and a member of a church or a religion. Churches are man-made organizations that are as fallable as the men who made/make them. The body of Christ (his followers) is another matter. This is spoken of by Christ in the Bible as well. So if you think you can parade around in here as some sort of authority based on what somebody in a church told you, be my guest...but I won't be listening to you. You want to find out what's in the Bible? Read it for yourself!!! No surprise there. As for me not liking that you're gay, you are grossly in error. I think you've got issues that stem from the way you deal with being gay, but that doesn't mean I don't like you because you're gay. There's a difference. As for where you're going once you die, that's not up for me to decide...however, your actions will. I'd say let everyone into heaven...but that's not the way it works. There are our actions, and then there are consequences. God controls the consequences. It's up to us to learn the right lessons.

Thou hypocrit.

I'm not sure what lofty ideals I'm not living up to, but I can tell you that the Sermon on the Mount is to you as a fish is to a bicycle. But thank you for not adressing any of the points I've raised. If you have nothing but insults, it sounds like you're done. With regard to the final judgement, I wouldn't be so sure about where I stood if I were you. You'd better look in the mirror. I don't think watching Fox News is sufficient.

Someone said something about twisting the bible, I had to laugh because I can't think of anything that has been more twisted and altered than the bible.
-
well, as the person he said fuck off to, i have a couple of statements.1)realize that i didn't say fuck you or direct it to anybody. I said it to an inanimate object which doesnt have feelings so that was a major mistake Bible thumper.2)Since you're Mr. Bible, what about all the times the bible tends to treat women as though they should be slaves so if you want to take it literally why don't we fire all the women who are lawyers and doctors?3) If you can't deal with what people say here you need to "fuck off"

see, this is what i live for, Do you eat bacon? if you have ever, In your life, eaten bacon, you sinned, you were saysno longer "clean" dont believe me? Leviticus 18:7 says "pigs have hooves that are seperated completely in two, but they do not chew the cud, they are not "clean" for you" so i ask again, do you eat bacon? or any other form of pig? if you do, you are unclean, so, who is less worthy? You, the pig eater? or the Homosexual? Now, I hope your happy, you got the poor hethinistic athiest all in a huff, I had to go find my bible that was packed away in a box at the back of my closet, I also found this, Genisis 4:6 "...do what is right, and you will be accepted,if you do not do what is right, sin is waiting at your door to grab you..." so I guess that means anyone who has ever sinned in their life goes to hell, why would anyone want to follow a totaly hipocritical book full of errors, and if "eternal life" is your answer, what if your wrong? you wasted your entire life beign restricted by rules in a 2000 year old book that turned out to be wrong. I would rather live this life that i am 100% sure abotu than live this life in constant fear of ruining an afterlife that is only an unknown possability

Since you're the Leviticus expert here...In reply to:Just remember, you're the one who opened this little can of worms.Right back atcha, buddy.
-
well i guess bible thumper got scared and doesnt want to play anymore.
-
shame, I was just starting to have fun
-
With all due respect, some people, even very religious ones, actually have lives.
-
yea but they spend it all day at church praying.
