For all those concerned about small white bumps on the shaft of their penis. This is more than likely sebaceous glands of hair follicles. It produces and liberates sebum, a mixture composed of fat, cellular debris, and keratin. When the gland arises in association with a hair follicle, it forms a thickened out pushing from the side of the developing follicle near the skin surface. As a young man starting puberty, he may see these form in rows or lines around the penis. As you age 18-25 years hair will eventually emerge. The hair will usually be coarser toward the base of the penis and finer and barely visible toward the head. The hair and bumps are more likely to be on the sides and underneath but they can be on top also. The bumps may appear to spread over the years but it is just the hair follicle maturing and the sebaceous gland producing more oil. Do not try to squeeze out the white substance; this will only cause irritation and infection.Do not masturbate with lotions or soaps, this can cause the glands to become blocked and actually make them appear larger. To help reduce visibility, use a light facial cleansing gel on your penis but don’t over do it, this can cause excessive drying.

A very informative first post. Welcome to A2A. Can I call you the guru? But honestly, this should be made into a sticky at the top of the page since this question gets asked so often.

It's already in the Male Anatomy thread but with much less detail. I can copy the text and paste it in there.

Ah, ok. Guess I wouldn't know, I don't actually frequent this part of the forum very often, I just didn't see anything at the top of the page.
