I've read that some forms of birth control pills can be used as emergency contraception.. at http://www.fda.gov/cder/foi/label/2003/021098s005lbl.pdf on p.6 (#9) it gives several types of pills that can be used in place of EC and the correct dosages.. but it doesn't list Yasmin as one of those.. does anyone know if and how many Yasmin pills can be taken in place of something such as Plan B? i recently moved and don't have a doctor in town yet, and there is no local planned parenthood.. so to go and get plan b presribed would be a pain (but worth it if need be).. when is it due OTC? I know it was okayed August 24th, 2006 but have yet to see it in walmart, CVS, or walgreens..

I think it would be safer to just sticking to a regular cycle of birth control pills rather than taking a bunch of them every time you screw up. Although they said it would be safe, I wouldn't rely on it protecting you from pregnancy. Emergency contraception should not be used as a birth control method. Instead of looking for EC, you need to try and get on a regular birth control method.

I used to use Yasmin as BC but it made me manic-depressive so I stopped.. and I still have one pack left.. I haven't been able to get a new gynocologist yet in town (i moved) and that's why i was asking as a one-time thing (the condom slipped off inside me). i can't seem to find anything that says overdosing on BC will cause any problems.. but don't want to risk it.. does anyone know? i read on one site that taking 4 Yasmin is the same as one Plan B pill.. but I don't know how reliable that is.. my gyno from back home is also on vacation, so calling him didn't work so well.
