ok...i know they say its best to take the pill at the same time everyday....adn i just got on it a few weeks ago....and i try like heck to take it at the EXACT time every day and i mean within 5 minutes of the exact time...but twice i have taken it 10 minutes late or early and was late taking it by a half hour twice and yesterday by an hour....all of these time differencials have been atleast a good 3 days or so apart and i still havent had sex yet ...so im not worried that im pregnant....but my question is....is it crucial to the effectiveness of the pill to take it within 5 minutes of the same time everyday?...if not what is ok, 10minutes, 30 minutes, an hour?....any resopnces are very appreciated

Pill question

Generally it's within 4 hours, but it may depend on which b/c pill you're taking.Which one are you taking?

Maybe try to set a daily reminder on your phone?

yeah i have set a timer on my cell and it works pretty well...its just sometimes i cant take it at the same time for some reason or another. im on lutera....for that spacific pill is there a spacific time issue?
-
The active ingredients of Lutera are the usual synthetic hormones. Don't worry about missing the right time by ten minutes or a half hour. Do worry about missing it by more than a few hours. If you do, then you should use another method of birth control (I think through the next day, but I'm not sure about that). If you keep missing the right time by more than a couple of hours or so (and it doesn't sound like you are), then you should just use another form of birth control besided the b/c pill.

In reply to: If you do, then you should use another method of birth control (I think through the next day, but I'm not sure about that Isn't that when the 7-day rule comes into play? It makes sense because an egg could be released and hang around for a week right?
