I onced got asked by a kid in London"I believe you're from Australia ?"I said...."How did you know?""I can tell by your accent" he saidI replied...."I don't have an accent, kid.....YOU do"
-
What does your accent sound like?
-
Do some of you guys in here find some accents kind of sexy?
-
which ones are sexy????
-
Canadian!
-
Canadian ones ARE sexy! But Mr U, yours is so mild, you've been dealing with the american busnessmen too much..lolIt is like trying to describe mine, and to actually DO it? Forget it...You should call me more often, than 2x a year!! I could probably describe it better!!! MMWAA! P.S. And somethings are more fun on the phone than in type!!!
-
well im newfie canadian....does that count?
-
well, Pepsi, I've found that the accents in cali aren't as strong as the south or the midwest so I don't find that you have a strong American accent either.>>well im newfie canadian....does that count?sure it does, me duck!I have quite a few friens who are "coasters" lol
-
Well, accent, no accent...your still sexy! Need someone to wash down a pepsi for ya? lol
-
I love newfie accents!
-
I met an Australian girl last night and I impressed her with the word Newfy. Its the only Canadian term that I know of that isn't insulting.
-
actually lots of people from newfoundland get offended by it. They would prefer to be called a newfoundlander
-
we're all a little sexier when we're unable to speak
-
yay!!! my accent is loved haha. and im not really offended by the term newfie. however, i dont like to be stereotyped as one of those "dumb newfs who fish all day long" and all that b.s. but im ok with newfie. MWAS
-
Oh... well luckily this girl; wasn't from Newfoundland.
-
yeah.. lucky
-
Oh, Mr. U has a sexy Canadian accent, eh. You know what I am talking aboot.
-
True, but he never calls unless I am disappeared for months on end!! lol, at least he misses me.
-
Well, my accent used to be absolutely appalling by all standards... I'm from The Black Country you see... for those of you not in the know: that's an area in the Midlands (England), where all the coal mining and industry used to be, hence the name, but, when I joined the forces, and, figured out that I had to slow down, and, say everything 3 times to be understood, I started to loose my accent... it's been 7 years since then, and, now, working with people from all over the world, and having to be able to talk to them all, I've pretty much been made into what the American stereotype of an English accent is!!! lol... I'm even known on occassion to state that most infamous of lines (that, whenever I do it earns me so much stick because of Notting Hill): "oops a daisy"so, as to how I would have talked if I had my accent, if memory serves, it'd be a bit like this:"alo mate, wha duz yer ayccen soond lyke"but now, it's more like:"What does your accent sound like?"for anyone that wants to learn black country (why ever they would is beyond me though) the alphabet according to coal miners (just the ones that are pronounced differently here):A - AyB - BayD - DayE - AF - efG - GeeH - HaychO - OooP - PayQ - QueueT - TayY - wuyAnd a classic black country joke as a result: ow dun yow spell egypt? ... Ay Jay Wuy Pay Tay^^ Translation: how do you spell Egypt .. I have no idea of the orgins of this joke, but, everyone here knows itOh, and, I guess a few choice phrases would help people understand the accent:A it = Isn't itR it = it is isn't itR = yesA = what?Yampee = Mad/crazy personYam Yam = a local of DudleyYam = you arethere are plenty more, but, you get the idea of how terrible my accent used to be!!! lolLaters!Dan

I have no Ideal what my accent sounds like. I have been told it sounds like English, Australian, Cajun, plus my Texas draw. What it really sounds like I have no idea that is just what people have said it sounded like. The most recent was the Cajun/Creole.
-
"..say everything 3 times to be understood"Oh I understand that! And I hate when people ask you to repeat a certain word cause they get a buzz out of the way you say it. It's fine to a small degree, but if overdone you can end up feeling like the entertainment..
