About 6 weeks ago, I began to become very tired all the time. Just completely unable to think or stay awake. I figured it was just due to the lack of sleep from being a college student but it continued all the way through the end of the semester. I've been home for about a week and a half now and I've been sleeping 16-18 hours a day and I still can't wake up. I've tried setting my alarm to limit myself to only 8 or 9 hours to prevent oversleeping but I'm still just as tired. I can't stay awake for more than 5 or 6 hours without taking a nap, which lasts 3 hours or more. I don't get depressed during this, I'm just tired. I exercise between 3-5 times a week for 30 minutes or more and I've been doing this, but no difference. I've been eating a healthy diet, but still no dice. I can drink one energy drink after another (or coffee) and that will sometimes get me to an almost "normal" level of awake, but that lasts only about 30 minutes before I'm tired again. I can't even get to the point of being uncomfortably wired and jittery from caffeine. It's like my mind/body has just decided to say "NO!" to energy. I'm trying to get a summer job but I can't think well enough to even get a resume together, so I doubt an interview would ever go well enough to land me a job and I'm pretty sure that I'd get fired in short order after I begin working. I don't know what to do. I'm not the type of person to complain and my parents are not going to want to deal with me going to the doctor for so I'm pretty much going to have to fix this on my own. Does anyone have any ideas of what might be going on or what I can do to fix this?

It sounds rather like Chronic Fatigue Syndrome. :frowning:
