I got Molluscum from my girlfriend (100% for sure), but she shows no visible signs of any of the bumps like I have. Almost every site I read said you have to have bumps to spread it. My family doctor says that females can be carriers and never show any signs. If she is indeed a carrier is there anything we can do to prevent her from given it back to me once it is gone from body? Has anyone heard of people only being carriers for this? Can it be passed to children via childbirth?Any insight would be helpful. Thank you.

Carrier of Molluscum?

Molluscum is a disease that is known of as a childhood disease. Kids get it from all the touching that they do, and sharing of toys and all. Usually people build an immunity to it. IDK about the idea that you can be a carrier though. It isn't life threatening, and should go away on its own. Don't share towels, or clothes, because it can be passed that way. Did you look at our main page under STIs? Molluscum

My word isn't gospel, but here is my .02. I aquired this pain the arse like 5 years ago. It is a type of pox virus, so once your body beats it down you will have an immunity to it. It works basically like chicken pox. Don't freak out if after a couple months you see one or two appear. This went on for me about 6 months and is common.

As far as I know, once you have chicken pox, you never fully get rid of the virus. It can come back years later as shingles.
