On the playboy.com site, where you can sign up for a magazine subscription, I couldn't find anywhere where it said you had to be 18 to sign up. It looks like they'd be happy to take anyone's money. I don't know what the status of Playboy is regarding whether it's considered "adult" material or not.In years past, Playboy was certainly considered scandalous, and when Ronald Reagan was president, and his sex-hating attorney general was looking for something to do, he intimidated 7-11 (the big convenience store chain in the U.S.) to stop carrying the magazine. That's when the stores started getting racks that would cover the fronts of the adult magazines. Now I don't know if any bluenoses care about Playboy, even though it still contains (retouched) photos of naked women. It is not illegal for the minor if he looks at pornography, but it is illegal for the non-parent/non-guardian party that lets him do so. For a parent, it's a bit more complicated. If a district attorney wanted to come after the parent, he could possibly charge him with contributing to the delinquency of a minor, or some such thing.(Tangent) In fact, that's where adults who date minors often get into trouble. The adult may not be charged with a sex crime, but if, for instance, he keeps the minor out late, which causes her to miss school, he can be charged with contributing to the delinquency of a minor.
