I used to be really good at running and had a very good cardiovascular endurance level. Recently tho, health-wise, I have went downhill. Put on some weight but not too much.Anyway, I was wondering what the best way is to built my CV endurance back up to what it was? I went out for a run the other morning but never lasted long, I was really dissapointed because I was'nt used to running such a short distance and still being tired.Cheers for any help!!

Another problem is often in the muscles and ligaments. You're not in the same condition as you were before therefore making your stride more inefficient and less elastic. There is a lot of form to running, most of which comes from feeling your body and running and relaxed as possible with as little extra effort as you can manage, as if you're gliding over the ground.Trust me, it'll come back to you. You just need to get out running again. Cross training would also be beneficial. A bike or eliptical are great for cardiovascular exercises and you can put in a little extra time without putting too much of a single type of stress on those untrained fibers in your leg. Honestly, as time goes by I continue to appreciate cross training more and more.Just push yourself a little and get out for some short runs at least two or three times a week. From there increase the distance. After you've got the distance up to where you want work on improving the intensity slightly. Then if you have questions about where to go come and ask me, I'm more than happy to answer any running questions.
