I just found out that my last lover had HPV. She knew it, which is a pisser, but irrelevant. The point is: since I am a male through and through, I believe that there are no tests for this, and there is no cure.So... um... is it just recommended that I never have sex? I mean, how should I react?

I googled male hpv test (click on it for more), and this is the first thing that came up: Google Answers: HPV testing for men. It is quite relevant. This info from the CDC is also interesting, but aimed more at women.Women need to get the new HPV vaccine before they become sexually active. It seems to be 100% effective and is low-risk. It will hopefully be approved for men sometime soon.HPV usually (or often) eventually disappears from the body in a healthy person.

Did she have the HPV type that causes warts? It's pretty rare that males are tested so I doubt any doctor is goign to perform any tests. You may or may not be infected. If you are and it's the wart causing strain, you may get warts at some point down the road. You just have to be on the lookout for them.
