I have had small bumps on the base of my penis for a few years now. Ive never had any problem with them, and i began noticing them a good few years ago. Thanks to your website, ive narrowed it down to two posible things, sebaceous glands or molluscule. I want to either make sure they're sebaceous glands or get treated. As i said, theyve been present for years, but never spread to any area other than the base (underside) of the shaft. No pain, no other anomalies. they started off as one bump, then grew to being too many to count. If it is molluscule, then my question is how am i still infected? i practice good hygene, yet the condition has been unchanging for about 3 years now. Do you think its possible that im just constantly reinfecting myself? I know theres no way theyre going away on their own, if it is molluscule what would the recomended treatment be?

Molluscum or sebaceous glands?

If they are small bumps under the skin, they are sebaceous glands. If you had Molluscum, it would be quite different and the bumps would change spread.

well its difficult to say, there is skin over the bumps, but the way they began to appear, seemed almost like they were spreading, a few more at a time, over a long period of time

A nice surefire test to see if it's molluscum: try to pop one of the sons-a-bitches and see what happens. Molluscum cores pop out REALLY easy (and you may dislodge them through regular activity) they tend to be thick, waxy, a bit hard, and slightly off-white.Two great treatments work here, the first one you need to take more precautions than the other.1) Pop the rest of the SOB's2) Use a hollow medical needle (18 gauge) to poke the skin and help remove the core. With both of these; be sure to wear protective gloves, wash the area that you're going to pop before and after you're done. The needle method is actually less painful in the long run (since you're doing less squeezing) and it'll also help control the mess/spread of the virus.

I'm prett sure that they are sebaceous glands.
