There's a special class in my school that's sort of like History but it's set aside or reserved for students who are willing and can handle it. It's an optional class. I wanted to take it because I thought it would look good on my record (teehee) which is not that bad it's actually interesting. But it's basically a class about Infamous people in the world and studying the things they did and trying to understand their mindset which is practically impossible we... sort of got somewhere with Nero and what not... sort of... any way right now we're working on Idi Amin and after that we're supposed to do Mary Tudor and Adolf Hitler. Nice combo right? Two whole different levels. So yeah.. Idi was a sick man and I honestly believe he was mentally challenged because the things he did was just... I won't get into it. I really get upset when I think about what he did in Uganda and such. But the professor of the class informed us about this movie that came out called "The Last King of Scotland" (which is quite funny because he's Irish ... well it's not that funny) and he wants all of us to go see it together and then have discussion and what not on it to help us with our research project that we're doing on him. I didn't really see the trailer for it. But I heard it was good. I ALSO heard it was gory and had some sexual content in it. Things I don't usually deal with it but then again it does have my favorite actress in it who I hear gets killed anyway... hmm. lol anyway. I just wanted to know if you guys have heard about this movie. I want to know what I'm in for before I start jumping in with the rest of the crowd.

Actually, I don't know much about the film, but I've heard several people give rave reviews for it and I'm concidering watching it myself (I love films based on real history). I say take the shot and watch the film, who knows what you'll learn from it

I suppose you're right. I searched a little bit on it. The guy who played Mr. Tumnus in Narnia is in it. I loved Mr. Tumnus lol. And Forest Whitaker is in it too. He always out does his characters so it must be good. I still have a feeling I won't be happy... ughhh

I've seen the film, its very good. There isn't really any sexual stuff in it, 2 very brief sex scenes and the odd breast shot but thats it. It'll probably be something that you will all giggle at rather than feel uncomfortable. Well, you see James McAvoy's (Mr. Tumnus) penis for 2 seconds, but its still nothing to worry about. There are a few very gory moments in the film but they're brief, nothing that you can't handle.I highly recommend that you go see the movie, its very accurate and the acting is great! Forest Whitaker really does become Amin, at times you are really scared of him. And Kerry Washington looks stunning as she gives a great performance, my friend and I felt so sorry for her being stuck in her situation. And just to let you know, the Irish and the Scottish get on very well! In fact, I'm heading up to Scotland for a few days on Monday with some friends. Haven't you ever seen Braveheart?? Its the English that we both hate!

Yup! But its more than that, our cultures are the same. Our native languages are the same, just different dialects. The closest thing you can get to an Irishman is a Scotsman.

I don't know about that... we Northumbrians get along quite well with the Scotts (aside from the occasional drinking contest)
