right.. and yet Christians are the only ones to be singled out from other absurd religions like Scientology that don't even require prayer. you're right it makes complete sense

Unforgiveable sin

Because Bob let me ask you... How is me believing in God affecting you personally? Why should you care so much on who or what I worship? Because I'll be honest with you Bob, I can care less that you don't believe in God; it doesn’t affect my daily life. For someone who doesn’t believe in God, sure has a lot of interest in people who do.>There is no proof that I could possibly offer that will be accepted by you. That was kind of my point. There is no proof that I could offer you that you'd accept either. Which makes the whole debate moot. People just need to respect each other and their choices in worship or lack there of.And I'd just like to give my opinion that I think your and Jay's Sigs are extremely childish. They don't offend me; I just think it's sad that two people who have such intelligence would sink to childish behaviors. And I do mean that in the most honest and sincere way.
-
And when did I single out Christians?Lets look at my sig:People who believe in imaginary beings, who talk to imaginary beings and who believe in imaginary superstitions like prayer are delusional.People: Not just Christians, they can be Muslims, Jews or Hindu! It doesn't change how rediculously childish and insane their beliefs are!Like: Not ONLY prayer, any stupid superstition like not working on Sundays or not letting women show their faces in public.

This ain't to you bob your just the last name on the list.I'm not entering this debate, first I don't have the time for it and second most know where I stand. That is, in short, I know what I don't know, I know what you don't know, I know that you know that I know what I don't know and then there's the are the things we don't know that we don't know... In other words I don't give fuck what you believe or don't or who ya fuckin' pray to, just as long as you don't use your belief, that you have the moral high ground, as an excuse to ram a building or invade a country._______________________________________________________________That being said the only reason I'm entering this thread is because I have a question for, chiefly, the Christians and it doesn't warrant a new thread. That is, what is the deal with all the Christian organizations that have nothing to do with religion?Driving down the block from work I see the following signs of groups that actually pay rent in building and I assume do some kind of business. There are:- The Fellowship of Christan Athletes- The Council of Christan Businessmen- The Christan Massage Center- God's Harvest (A Christan health food store)- Christan Enterprises Inc. (I have no idea)- Students for Christ (or something like that)- The Christan Plumbers Guild & - Some kind of Christan general contractors association. Why do you all have these?I don't find them offensive as much as a curiosity. I do find them something but I wouldn't say it approaches the level of offensive but it in some way is not to many levels under that. I think it's the exclusivity and superiority they seem to imply and is often experienced when having to deal with the members and patrons of such establishments that bothers me. If that's what your going for, I don't give a shit but don't be surprised when people don't want anything to do with it or you and start to take offense at the idea.I don't get why you need an organization to be pious or have faith in your daily life. It just seems a means to exclude or believe and reinforce the belief that your better than others. What gives with these entities?(Shit! I spent to much time on this already.)
-
Actually Scotty, my answer is I don't know lol. I personally think religion is a private matter and should be kept at that. I guess I just have a different view on all that.I would suspect these groups are trying to form relations within itself for other religion people. Not saying it's right or even wrong and I know it's pointing out the obvious. So yeah.. I don't know. (Wasn't I a BUNCH of help!!! LOL!)
-
exactly. I could care less whether someone believes in God or not. That's there choice. But it's annoying when they get so hostile that it's a must to get their point across. You respect my beliefs I respect yours. no need to trash. nuff said
-
Your right that question applies to all faiths. Living in the bible belt though I have never seen a Jewish plumbers guild or an Ala's Harvest basket, I make no assertion that those don't exist, in fact I would imagine they probably do it just in all my travels I never run across a single one that I can think of.All the one's I listed are located within 4 square miles. So, to better phrase the question, so as not to offend, why do religions need these organizations that have nothing to do with religion.

Good question, Helms. It's probably because the cause of all the Christian suicide-bombers, and how the Christians attacked America.--I don't really care much for Religion - only thing I've learned from it is to love everyone and not to murder, lol. All these non-belivers are ruining music though -- they're making bands feel horrible for being Christian; thus they don't go to their full-potential, it's quite sad. Offends me as a Musician. Doesn't really look like there is a God. These 2 cum-guzzling cocksuckers are still alive, so...

OldFolksIts probably the feeling of group solidarity that there must be. If you have the delusion that you're Napoleon, it must be a lonely feeling because nobody else agrees with you. Your faith in your believe needs a lot of reassurance. But if hundreds, or even thousands of people have exactly the same delusion, well then that must give wonderful reinforcement to their faith.HelmsI have already explained quite clearly that I am not talking only about Christians, and as OldFolks explained, he was taking his question from driving down a road that was full of Christian organisations. Living in the Bible belt of America, he must come across this a lot where he lives, so it makes sense that he'd ask about it rather than Muslim or Jewish organisations. And in terms of being offended. PinkRanger is a Christian, no? The worst place in the world, in her mind, is Hell, no? She has openly said that myself and others who do not believe in God, who do not worship Him, who just live a life without giving credit for everything to an all-powerful being to which no proof of existance has ever been shown, she has said that we are going to burn for all eternity with Hitler and all the other evil people in the world. And all this because we live differently, we believe something else. Now granted, it isn't gonna kill me, but if that isn't something to be offended by, if that isn't a close-minded belief, then I don't know what is.Converse22Have you ever listened to Christian Rock? Its some of the worse music ever written, half of it is just mutilated covers of classic songs.
-
I don't understand why people on both sides get so hostile either. I mean, I'm Agnostic. I just don't feel the need to argue with anyone who believes or who doesn't. It's their choice.
-
Quote:No, selfish because it seems your main motivation for following Christianity is a place in Heaven. Isn't there more to Christianity than saying "lol ur goin 2 hell"? Not ONCE have i ever thought or considered the only reason to believing in god is because I will go to heaven.

Sorry, I can't read your list, I have too much cum in my eyes. Maybe if you write the list in Braille and insert it into another man's ass, then I'll have better luck. take a chill pill
