We have a mod locking threads who felt that he was being misunderstood and unfairly attacked yesterday for his religious faith, which unfortunately for discussion purposes, is not written down anywhere. He's one of the hundreds of millions of non-fundamentalists, who each, in effect has his own faith. It is interesting that he doens't like the religious debates, but has no problem with people making explicit threats toward one another, adults counseling the barely-adolescent with their sexual techniques, people telling each other to go fuck themselves, and so on.Is that hypocrisy, or is there another word for it?

Afraid to Faith
-
I wish i knew who you were talking about.
-
the faithful can always attack from behind the safety of their faith. what do the rest of us have?
-
This thread, this moderator. For more information, go back and read all the posts from the past year or two.

I think he does a great job.And he isnt the only mod who has an opinion. Just because he has a duty on this site doesnt mean he doesnt have his own mind and opinion.
-
And opinions will vary. I didn't say he wasn't doing a great job, but I think there are some things he does and doesn't do that are inconsistent and incorrect.

how dare you

You know that Bobalicious and I worship you. Never doubt our faith.

and I reward your faith with my love, Pestilence, War, Famine, and Death
-
Mmmmmm....pestilence.

I love my Mr.U!I tried to get you those virgins you ordered, but D'Lish, Angel and Pepsi overpowered me and they're demanding to be your slaves.
-
I have recommended banning religeous debates at A2A and frankly quite a few of you disgust me. Unfortunately, it was recommended to leave it be.
-
Wow, that is quite frank.
-
And quit a few of the things that mods say disgust me. Your attitude toward gays, for instance, is shittier than my attitude toward religion. In general, you are quite closed-minded and tightly wrapped, and have little tolerance for people's "weird" sexual proclivities and tastes. You are so tightly wrapped, you must meed a hydraulic pump to take a crap.
But we all must get along and respect each other, after all.
-
You know what my reply to you is..
-
i wish this wasnt such a discussion and arguement board anymore.. i wish it was just advice giving
-
Yeah, people coming here just to complain can be annoying too...

I don't know that I would want religious debates to be banned...or maybe I would like that, I don't know. But I am glad they are being monitored more closely. They have gotten out of hand as of late, and nothing new has come of any of them. How many times do I need to hear the same people say over and over how stupid Christianity is and how many times do I have to see them post new threads with different ways of saying so. And how many times do they have to hear me and others say we disagree. As for Ineligible being inconsistent, I would disagree. So he chooses to monitor the religious debate threads more carefully and lets some of the other ones go. I don't have a problem with that because I know there are moderators who join in the stupidity on those threads, but do a good job of moderating closely some of the stuff that Ineligible might let go. It's like it all comes out in the wash...now that someone is paying attention to these endless stupid threads.Just a thought...

it's twofacednessnessness lol. I usually try to stay away from "debates" like that both online and in real life because someone who is passionate about what they believe in is bound to get themselves hurt. Though sometimes it can be hard becuase you can't really just sit there while something your whole life revolves around is being mocked you know? it's kinda OD rude.

the Doc has the right to allow or disallow anything on his forum. This is a private forum and has no obligations to freedom of speach.I respect his decision to accept the shit with the shinola. Now, I've sat back and amused myself with these so-called spiritual debates with only minor input but it's time to re-state a few things...I've asked before and now, would someone please answer; why is it bad to critisize the written and accepted history of organised religion yet, somehow, acceptable for the members of any critisized religious group to reply to the critasism with a direct, personal attack on the critic.i.e. -xyz religion is responsible for this horrible era in history.-- oh yeah, well you just don't get it and you're an asshole. what the fuck is that? is that how we learned to debate in school? (or in church)? So, the valid point is made that, as the most predominent and powerful religion/political entity in America, Christianty can bare some critisism. So, why do the christians scurry from the bright light and hide behind the indignation of persicution? So, my dear faithful friends, just accept the factschristian nazis killed 6000000 jewschristian soldiers invaded Jeruselemjesuits were tortured by northamerican indiansetc etcthere is no point in defending any of that. there is value, however, in stating the good that has come from your religion, race, politics, WITHOUT condemning your critic.take the higher ground... what woud JC do?Unfortunately, when you travel the road of faith, many of your fellow travellers are the ignorant. Lend your brothers a hand.Or you could just dismiss my agnostic ass and tell me I don't get it, that's ok, I won't be hurt.
