Hello... I had a lot of intense exposure to some rays in a place where the ozone layer is notably thin, this being last November. It is almost March, and a burn I got on my upper chest is still visible/red (no pain or anything though).. I've never had such a long-lasting sunburn, and my main question is how worried I should be about this and its implications for skin cancer ??? Also interested if anyone else has had a similar experience...

Any serious sunburn increases the chances of skin cancer..

I'm not so sure, and I'm no expert about this, but maybe you should see a doctor about it. I'm sure the thought passed through your mind once or twice but you went on A2A just in case. I hope everything works out for you, wishes for the best xP

To sdp: yes, thank you for stating the extremely obvious.

and my main question is how worried I should be about this and its implications for skin cancer ??? If it's obvious then why did you post the question? Every sunburn causes cellular damage. Will it cause cancer later in life? No one can answer that question.
