Hello ppls, Well ive been a forum lurker for a hile now, but untill now I've never really had anything to post so here it is. I've had a cold for a few days now. Up untill this morning, there have been no signs of any cold sores. Yesterday I used a public urinal at 10:45 am, it was filthy, there was urine all over the floor. Between 7:30 pm and 8:30 pm, I took off my shoes and then started coughing up flem. I then went to the kitchen to get a drink and for some crazy reason, I stuck a finger in my mouth/throat. To do what you ask? Im not sure, but Im not sure if i washed my hands before doing so. This morning, I woke up coughing at 4:30 am and i felt a bump in my throat with my tongue. I ruched to the bathroom to see im the mirror that I looks like a cold sore in my roof of my mouth/throat area. Now incase you didnt read all that, ill sum up my question. Is it possible that because i took off shoes that had been in a public restroom that day and then stuck a finger in my mouth that I could have contracted herpes? Or is this just a cold sore?btw Im a virgin and a straight

Welcome to A2A posting, Uber Dan!
You don't get cold sores from a cold. Cold sores are from a strain of herpes virus that prefers the area around the mouth.
What you have in your throat may well be a canker sore. They get better by themselves and are not due to any strain of the herpes virus.
