In my post-gym daze I managed to up end most of my protein shake across my keyboard. Very annoying.

Like that keyboard? a good one your used to and dont have funds to replace it?Pop that mother fucker in teh dishwasher with no soap. when its done turn it on its end and upside down so that the water can drain out. Let it sit 24 hours, plug the fucker in and type away.People assume its bullshit but Im serious. You can lesson the time if you take it apart and wipe clean all the water thats in various areas, but most people end up fucking up the guts when trying to do that or dont get shit aligned right when it goes back toegether and ruin the keyboard, sitting for 24 hours normally evaporates and drys all teh water. This method was taught to me by my woman, who is A+ certified and its taught in that course. She has many certs for computers, she knows what shes talking about, and the keyboards in our house get disenfected this way about 2 or 3 times a year, never had a problem with any of them not surviving. The exception may be the wireless ones that have battery compartments built in.Id assume that you should be able to take the bats out and leave the cover off and run them through the same way, but Im not 100% posative. Iv had electronics like car stereos that were in storage and so fucking gummed up that I soaked them overnight in a water bath to get teh shit out, took them apart, cleaned them up and put them back together and tey worked jsut fine, a battery compartment shouldnt have a negative effect so long as its dry when it gets the battery put back in.

I accidentally soaked a video camera in sea water, which was the end of the camera. I later realized that I should have dropped it into a bathtub of clean water as soon as possible, and it may have had a prayer of working again, although water would probably have gotten into the optics.
Given the price of water and electricity, it might be cheaper to just buy a new keyboard...they're practically free. But if you're going to run a load anyway, there's not much to lose. I'd suggest not running the keyboard through the dishwasher's drying cycle if you don't want it to melt.

Im a cheap bastard, I always air dry the dishes and never turn on the drying cycle unless its thanksgiving and I need dishes for desert soon after dinner. Didnt think about anyone else using it though. How free they are depends greatly on what keyboard it is. The keyboards I have , one could be replaced for about 10 bucks at walmart, the others are more expensive and better keyboards, One Im particularly fond of and Id have to pay another 75 bucks to replace.I know a load of dishes dont cost me that much. It of course is new, and wireless and optical and included the mouse. It hasnt needed cleaning yet, Iv only had it for about 2 weeks. The camera, it should of been ok with fresh water, I wouldnt wof worried about the optics since all quality optics are sealed and contain nitrogen to keep them from fogging up at shitty times on the inside where you cant wipe it off with a shirt or bandana.Atleast the quality optics I own are all sealed and treated that way, the scopes on my rifles, the binoculars... My video and digital cams Im not too sure about, is a 50o dollar video made all that well? and digital cams.... Shit they are nearly replacable anyways. I have a camera I got about 8 years or so ago, it cost me about 400 at the time and I think its a 1.3 meg pix, the most recent camera I bought is 6 megs, and I paid 150 for it just before christmas through a buddy that got it on post for me at a sale for my kid. I dont knwo what retail is on it, but Im sure its lots less than I paid for the original one so long ago. They make the fuckers nearly disposable now.

The cheap-ish Olympus 35mm film camera in the same bag survived the dunking.I was attacked by a rogue wave in SW France in winter...it dragged me and my camera bag under. I spent a while in the bathtub after that. I should have brought the cameras with me...in the...umm...bathtub. Sort of sounds like porno Web site idea.
