Is it possible to have any sort of STD without ever having sex, neither oral nor vaginal nor anal?

STD without sex?
-
S exualT ransmittedD eseaseYou cant get an STD with out sexual contact. That is unless a few other things are considered.Look at crabs, a parasite, public lice, sleeping in the same bed as someone who has them could get ya a case of them, but they are not exactly what we are talking about.Handling blood or a transfusion that wasnt checked out could get you aids.Hepatitus is a STD, but doenst absolutely have to be contracted through sexual acts.

You can't get a sexually-transmitted disease without having sex. It would be possible to get infected with an STD-type infection if you tried hard enough, though. For instance, if you played with someone's sex organs, and then touched your own, you could spread a bacteria or virus to yourself. Are you counting oral sex as sex? Because that can spread things. Is there a specific reason that you're asking?

I think so. You can get STD's if you share a needle, either drugs or piercing(Which is a very big issue now - numbers decreased after setrilization - same for tattoos)Quote:STDS are infections or viruses that are spread through sexual contact. This includes vaginal intercourse, anal intercourse, and oral sex. It is possible to get some STDs without having intercourse through skin-to-skin contact. Most STDs are curable but some are not. Many people are not aware that they have an STD, they can look healthy but may still have a sexually transmitted disease that can be passes on to another person. If you have a cut, on your arm let's say, and some one who has AIDS or HIV and has an open wound touches that - you'll get an STD. This is what I found from research.

you'll get an STDYou may get an infection.

It's semantics, isn't it? You could say that if you got it without sex is can't be an STD because it wasn't sexually transmitted, but it's still the same disease and you can pass it on to someone else by sex.Generally, the diseases referred to as STDs are the ones that are most often transmitted by sex, but all of them can potentially be transmitted other ways, and sometimes are.Conversely, diseases that are not usually classified as STDs can sometimes be transmitted during sex.

All true. How would hepatitis B and C be classified?
-
I've never heard anyone classify Hepatitis B as an STD.
-
I think he meant Hep C
-
According to some Web page...Quote: Hepatitis B is transmitted through: Blood Blood sucking arthropods (mainly in the tropics). Blood transfusions Contaminated drinking water or ice Feces Raw or uncooked shellfish (oysters, clams or mussels) Saliva Seminal fluid Uncooked fruits or vegetables grown with or washed in contaminated water Urine Vaginal secretionsSaliva. Seminal fluid. Vaginal secretions.

Always gotta be a smart ass and prove things through 'facts' eh? hmm...Sexually speaking, Hep C spreads during sexual contact pretty much the same way HIV does.
-
Sexually speaking, Hep C spreads during sexual contact pretty much the same way HIV does....but more easily. People who are worried about HIV should be at least as worried about hepatitis C.
-
Perhaps even more so, eh? As far as I've understood it, Hep C is much more resilient and contagious than HIV, and frankly; HIV isn't the death sentence it used to be (If you live in a developed country)
-
Yes, hep C is a hardier and more contagious virus, but they can both kill you. If someone forced me to choose between them, I think I'd take a chance with hep C...but either would be terrible to have.
