Whooohoooooo congrats Amy, i just got your text but couldn't reply cos i have no credit and havn't had any for nearly a month now, i came on to send ya a message and found your thread YAY.......*throws glitter* would offer you a drink but you're driving now haha
-
Congratulations! That is wonderful news!
-
That's righteous! Congrats Girl. The world as you know it, is about to totally change. Be safe and drive defensively and safe. What is the legal age there? .Here in Texas you can get a family hardship license at 14 years old but the standard legal age is 16 years old I'm so excited for you.
-
You can get a provisional license at 17, which means you can take lessons with a person who has passed for 3 1/2 years... then you have to do a theory test (I passed that first time last year), after that you have 1 year to take your practical driving test .. I failed my first one in December, passed my second one yesterday. Woohoo purple angel glitter... now, where's Eddie with my rainbow glittery shower??? I'm so excited! Just really nervous as well because I haven't actually drove my own car properly yet.. only been in it for about an hour as I was learning in my instructors Renault Clio (with power steering, goddammit, I've become lazy!) so adjusting to my little peugeot is harrrrd and ... heavy.. lol
-
YAY! Congrats! You will get used to your own car in no time! It's such a wonderful thing...the freedom of driving."I work, so I can make my car payment, and I must have the car to make it to work"..lol I don't remember where I saw it, but HOW TRUE!
-
How long will it take me to have the confidence to go out alone though!? I feel like I might be able to, but I can't park so I'd be stuck on the side of a road haha (don't know why I have such a problem with parking in my car lol)
-
Who knows honey! Practicing is what makes you good at it!Just try to find bigger spaces to park for a while, you might still have to walk a bit, but you will get the hang of it.
-
eh might be a little while might be a long while, but congratulations AND STAY OFF MY ROAD!
-
THROWS THE RAINBOW GLITTER! WOOOO HOOO!!!! GRIN
-
whoooo my eddie came to the party! It's all a big glittery fun mess now dances I'm so happy. Went out driving again tonight with my dad... going to take the car out alone tomorrow!
-
Congratulations, Amy!
It took me two goes and I very nearly failed the second time. (The first time I very nearly had an accident.)
-
Oooh what happened?
-
Ugh I was sooo pissed I failed twice before passing. The first time I did my maneuverability and than he had me drive back to the parking lot where the BMV was (Which was actually the same plaza) and he told me I got a perfect on the maneuverability but failed the driving, though I never even went on the street! It was rumored that guy failed all first timers because he felt we all needed more practice, he was an old cranky man. The second time I think was even worse and almost even more stupid. I was taking the driving part of the test and I came to a stop sign where I couldn't see around some hedges. So I slowed down and inched forward until I could see around the hedges and stop and looked both ways and continued on. Here I failed at that point because he said I had to stop right at the stop sign, than inch forward stop again than proceed. I was sooooo pissed! At the third try I got a perfect and the guy I had said he didn't understand how I failed the previous times because I was the best driver he had in a long time. When I told him about the two previous attempted he was almost pissed and felt I got a really bad deal from the other two instructors. GRRR but yeah that's my little story hehe
-
My first time I was so nervous that I waited so long coming out of the testing centre that I came out straight in front of another car that had to brake hard to avoid hitting me. The rest wasn't much better.
The second time was perfect except I completely failed to see a stop sign. At that time that still gave me just enough points to pass - soon after they changed the rules so it wouldn't.

Yay! I just got back... been out driving all by myself... proud and excited

Woo Hoo! Go our amyness! You'll only get better! *hugs*

Yey, my Amybug passed!! cuddles and throws bunches of glitter I'm so proud of you! lovesThe only thing I had a problem with was the eye exam! lol I'm blind as a bat apparently and for some reason I decided to take the test without my glasses, d'oh! Can we say 'dummy, dummy, dummy!' Oh well, they allowed me to take it again and all was well! The only part about my driving test I hated was the parallel parking! Gah, I was so afraid I was going to wreck that car, but luckily I did it perfectly and thankfully I haven't had to parallel park since (I've some how managed to avoid it!!)! Whew knock on wood that was over five years ago too!
