Hey guys, I have yet another problem that which using google could not resolve. Last weekend (Friday the 16th-early Saturday 17th) I had a house party, which ultimately led to the consumption of alcohol. In the past I have drank before, but not like that night. Saturday afternoon when I woke up, I had my first "Bad Hangover" in which Nausea swept over me and forced me to feel ill. But here's the problem. It's tuesday night, nearly three days later, and I feel lightheaded. I find it difficult to concentrate on things for a long period of time, and I feel as though I am not really me. I honestly wish there were better words to describe my situation. Is this normal? Could it be my body just continuing to filter out the alcohol, or perhaps a mild form of dehydration? I continue to drink water regularly, but i'm starting to think it might be something else. Thanks for your insight, I truly appreciate it!

Feeling a bit strange. Due to Alcohol?
-
See but the thing is, I haven't vomited, and I breath fine (Yesterday as usual I went to the gym, and today after school I played handball). I can also be aroused on will. Also, the effects of alcohol poisoning generally are alot more severe and if it goes untreated it can lead to such things as a coma; keep in mind I am over 3 days after my initial drinking.
-
Perhaps it's a virus and just a coincidence?
-
I doubt, I usually get the flu or such viruses and it doesn't relate to my situation. I feel fine apart from being lightheaded. Considering it is over 3 days after drinking, is it safe to eliminate the chance of alcohol poisoning? The only symptoms I can relate to is: Mental confusion.

I think after three days there shouldn't be any acute signs. If you've ensured you're not dehydrated, I wonder if any drinks might have been spiked with something, or you may have taken something else while you were drunk?
-
Just alcohol. I believe there was a mixture of drinks, but restricted to alcohol only. Needless to say, I am drug free. I am extremely worried about the situation, and I hope it is just something that will go away with some rest.

I think that's the best you can do. Make sure you eat healthily, in case your vitamin levels are a bit disturbed.
-
Thanks, I appreciate all the help! I'll sign off for tonight, and post how I feel tomorrow.

Thanks grvty, It's a day later, and at night and the morning, I seem to be in bad shape. This morning before first period (Circa 8:20) I actually forgot my exact location on campus for a short time. Later I felt fine, especially when i'm up and doing some sort of activity. But now as I sit at my desk, It's coming back. I've been drinking water continously, and I took a multivitamin this morning which I think contributed to my slow improvement. As for my protein intake, as suggested by grvtykllr, i'm currently drinking a protein shake. I spoke to my peers today, and they think (although they haven't experienced this) that there is still alcohol in my system, and this is my body just slowly filtering it out.

I doubt you have any in your system.Iv been through a few million hangovers, Iv had some last for over a week, and Iv had the depleted system syndrome that I betting your now going through.eat, drink, and get some sleep, its nromally a 2 day heal after Iv been inthat situation and start correcting it.If it hangs on, look into it being something else.

But from you experience, is five days now a bit insane, or it's possible? As I said, the only symptom i'm feeling is dizzyness/lightheadedness
-
Idsay its immpossible to still be havingbooze in your system, but very possiblethat your still sick because of a night of over drinking. Not hung over really, but still feeling the effects because you havent replenished the needed fluids and what not in your body.
I drank daily inmass quanitys for a few years, it was normal to polish off a 5th of vodka and a 12 pack daily, plus a pint in teh glove box of my work truck. Now I rarely drink, and no where near the levels I once did and what used to get me a light buzz now gives me a hang over. a 12 pack of beer will make me feel like that for 2 or 3 days if I dont get my carb and protien intake up the day after and I drink alot of sports drinks for electrolites and to help settle my stomache down a bit. I also find you cant have too much coke when your hung over, settles shit down and gives you suger to get energy back up. -
Ok, now this is scary. It's a week later, and still I have this. Except now, I have moments of 'Clarity' which could possible mean improvement. I am contemplating seeing a doctor, because I am leaving on a trip to Europe thursday afternoon. Opinions?

Considering how long its been going on, it would be best to see a doctor.
