I havnt been involved with girls as anything more than friends in a serious way for a long time, not since I was 16. I'm now 18 and want to ask out this girl in my class who is also just about to turn 18. This feels like entirely new territory to me. What would be an appropriate thing to ask her out to?My thoughts so far (possibly misguided) is that dinner is too extreme for firts date, and cinema is kinda crap cos you cant talk. I really dont know though, never having been out with a girl this age. Any advice and help appreciated, thanks.

Whats appropriatye for a first date?

I don't think dinner is too extreme for a first date, if it's somewhere reasonably informal. The cinema is fine if you add coffee or supper or something after it - you have the advantage of being able to talk about the movie if conversation flags.

If there's any kind of social gathering coming up, ask her to go with you, but dinner is still not a bad idea in my opinion especially if you can go to a park or something afterwards to talk and get to know each other.

Got any bowling alleys near you? It's a fun thing to do, plus you get to talk, but it's informal at the same time.I could be totally wrong though! Never tried it before!

Oh No your right, bowling alleys are probably a great idea, a small degree of competition between individuals is probably going to spur alot of conversation.
