i had unprotected oral sex about 7 or 8 months ago and i just got the HIV test saying negative. is there any chance it could have been wrong?

they tend to be pretty accurate when there are several months beteen the potential exposure anf the test.Oral is also a lower risk activity than intercourse. If your partner is HIV positive then I'd suggest the re-test just to make sure.

Why would he need to retest when the exposure was 7 or 8 months ago? Isn't that more than enough time?

It's more than enough time for the response to develop that the tests measures, but the test is not 100% reliable. However, after that time it's pretty good. There's always going to be some risk remaining, whatever you do - you can't reduce the probability of having it down to absolutely zero, no matter what you do.

i know from expirence im celebrating a relationship of 5 months you always need to make sure ur partner has been checked ask them if they ever been checked if not tell them they should make an apt
