im thinking of going Vegetarian. its a decision im toying with, im sure i will miss steak and pepporoni pizza and burgers and ribs alot, but i feel guilty about how badly alot of animals are treated...i havent decided yet. but my query is, if i switch to vegetarian and avoid eating meat, will i drop a lot of weight? and will it stop me from 'getting big'? i want to be a muscley guy when im older and i dunno if thats possible without meat in your diet. thanks.-ak

Methinks eating meat is completely and absolutely normal for a homo sapiens. Plus the real thing tastes much better (or at least definitely different) from the fake soy stuff. I consider a healthy diet a balance of flora and fauna

I would go slowly with that. First, I would give up red meat and stick with fish and chicken. And when you're comfortable, give up chicken or fish. And so on. That is what I would do.
-
Oh come on, you Neither did I, actually

That's pretty much what I meant, really. I heard though that the Broccoli thing was just a myth to make children eat more veggies o.o Or was it just carrots? The myth about carrots and good eyesight. In any case, indeed, a good, balanced, versatile diet is better than any kind of extreme, however "healthy" or "fashionable" it might be deemed at the moment. And I believe that it starts at abolishing fast food for the most part and eating proper ones.

I myself am a Semi VegI no longer eat red meat of any sort, and only eat Fish/Chicken just because if i didn't i'd waste away into nothing! lol

Damn, Wally. Get off my back

I've met fat vegitarians

It's quite possible to get enough protein from a vegetarian diet. Eggs and cheese contain a lot of protein, but even if you go fully vegan there is enough protein in pulses - peas, beans and lentils. Soybeans are particularly good.
-
The biggest difficulty, I would think, is with iron and vitamin B12. The story about spinach having a lot of iron resulted from a mistake, and though it's possible to get enough iron without meat, one has to be careful. Vitamin B12 is the biggest problem for vegans, because it only comes from animal sources. Some vegans' main source of B12 is the mouse and rat droppings that often contaminate food.

I don't know much about being a vegan other than having heard people say it's not easy.
If that is a lifestyle you want to pursue I would suggest that you wait until you have completed puberty and are no longer growing. For my taste, _this just my opinion_, it seems to risky and to easy to be protein deficient especially when your body is still growing and developing.
As for muscles, well I've never seen a muscular vegan. -
goto the mirror, open wide and smile. See those pointy teeth? those designate you as a meat eater. One of my favorites is veal, they tie thos baby cows to a stake and dont let them move, keep em in cages, keep them soft and tender for me to enjoy.besides nto eating meat can turn you into a huge pussy, its true ! I saw it on south park!!I love meat, Iv killed many elk, deer, birds, you name it if it lives here Iv killed butchered and ate it. Meat tastes like murder and murder tastes pretty god damned good!

if anythings gonna convince me not to go Veg, its this guy. speculating now..

I just love meat.Iv been exposed to hunting and fishing since I was born, prenatal even.Meat tastes good, its good for you in regular doses. Alot of what I eat I killed, and butchered myself. Meat is like god for me, I dont really care whos a vegan, so long as they dont try and push it on me.
