my family isnt doing really good financially so my parents cant afford to buy me clothes at the moment, and I dont have that many. I can honestly say that I wear the same jeans everyday, which I think is extremely nasty....but theres nothing I can do. Just wondering how many pairs of clothes other people have...and also I was considering going to the salvation army for clothes, exactly how cheap are the clothes there and how many clothes do they have?

Salvation army, and other used clothing stores are a great way to go. The clothes are usually really cheap, like here 4 bucks for a pair of good almost new jeans. I have bought good winter jackets for less than ten bucks. The trick with them, is you have to dig a bit, but usually you will find something good. My kids have about 7 or 8 outfits, but a lot of that is still hand-me-downs...My older daughter has more clothes, but only because she has stopped growing so fast, and has time to accumulate them.

There are also other 'thrift' stores to go too...my family and I are fairly stable financially but we go to a place called "Value Village" which follows the same principal.Oddly, I have a VERY nice high end wardrobe (as in formal wear) that I made up almost exclusively at said store. I got myself a 50%-50% wool/cashmere coat from Kingston for about $30, actually It was literally brand new (had the tag on it) Also, I bought uniforms for work (jeans and golf shirts) for less than $10 for each days-worth of clothing. My point being that there is actually a surprising number of high quality items tossed out (You'll be surprised to see how many still have their tags on them) for damn near nothing at all.

I don't have a lot of clothes either. Since I don't like shopping for clothes too much, I tend to avoid it as much as possible.

I have one pair of jeans that I wear almost every day and a second, completely fucked and torn to pieces pair of jeans that I wear when I'm washing my good pair.
I have one pair of shoes that I've worn every time I've gone out since my runners became useless over a year ago. I've got a couple of t-shirts, a few shirts, a few pairs of boxers and I don't have a single sock that doesn't have a hole in them.
Apart from that, and a black suit with proper shoes for special occassions, that is all I have. I haven't bought new clothes since last summer. -
You sound just like me, bob! I do have a bit more, partly because people give me clothes, but the ones I actually wear form quite a small collection.

Charity shops are a treasure trove of stuff.......but its the luck of the draw mostly, i never find anything but then i rarely go whereas a friend of mine goes every week as she passes and gets some fabulous stuff......and im not talking dowdy crap, some of the stuff she has got from charity shops have been almost brand new named stuff so try it........my advice, don't just go once and get disappointed, go once a week or so and have a good rake through.....as for prices they differ but lets face it they arn't a patch on *stores* so you can't lose. Good luck!
