When your local city offers teens free HIV tests. That's a doggone shame
-
It's a shame
-
That or a godsend. =/ It's better they know and get early treatment, IMO. It's terrible that it's a problem though.
-
At least they are trying to address the problem, rather than turn a bline eye to it.
-
I don't understand why it's a shame. Would you rather people not know and keep on spreading it?
-
I think I'm at loss as others to why this is a shame? Personally I wish more cities would adopt this idea.
-
It's a shame that there's a need for the city to offer such a thing but it's better than letting it go unnoticed. Hopefully in the process they'll also use this as a chance to educate people about this problem so it can be prevented in the future.
-
lol dang yall don't you know me better than that? it's a shame they even need a test. teens should be having protected sex or NO SEX at all. too young for that. and it's sad when they joke around about being positive or negative. you're 14 for crying out loud.
-
I agree that the SHAME is that programs like that are needed. With that said, they ARE needed. Thank goodness they are there.
-
So, what do we do, take away the test sites? Ruin more lives? C'mon. Yeah, we all agree that teens are being irresponsible, but it is nice that they CAN be tested when they should be.not trying to be a b** but, idealism, is more of a wish than the reality.

ExactlyWe can't expect teens to not be ignorant or stupid of the choices they make, but thank god that schools aren't teaching abstinence only, and that there are centers to educate and treat those who do make the ignorant choice.
-
We can't expect teens to not be ignorant or stupid of the choices they makeyes we can!! lol I do
-
Yea, but you're like Super-Girl, most kids aren't as smart as you! :P
-
aww shucks lolSuper-Girl... I could run Spiderman out of business. maybe it 's just the way they think nowadays but I don't see what the problem is with finding self-control. unless you're being forced no one is ripping your clothes off of you in which they have a choice
-
alright alright it's not like I cured cancer or ended world hunger lol

I think one of the problems (not just with this, but in general) is that we DON'T expect enough out of them. One think I can tell you about kids is that they typically don't rise above what they feel is expected of them.
