Well I made a thread earlier but I couldn't find it. I'm condensing everything into this post.~Age: 14Sex: MaleI get headaches daily, almost 100% of the day. Different spots on my head mostly. Pain behind my eyes has been on and off. I got my eyes checked, and was 20/20. No problem there. My parents don't take things seriously and I am not very fond of them. I've been to the doctor twice and it failed miserably. Nothing happened, nothing will happen.Headaches have become a normal part of my life. I have had constant headaches for years. I do not know what it feels like to not have a headache.I cannot sleep at night. I wake up 2+ times every night. Doctor prescribed melatonin, it failed. I do not know what it feels like to sleep for 9+ hours without waking up. I cannot remember. Please help me out with this, I would appreciate it!I would like information on how to talk to my parents, because they rarely take me seriously, and 'forget' to do things like make appointments.Headaches are driving me insane. No, I do not drink pop. I drink almost all water.~P.S. Is it normal to honestly hate a parent or two? I hate my dad. He broke my guitar in a fit of rage, denied it, and then hit me. Child abuse was closed, wtf kind of help are there anyway? I would have LOVED to get him whisked away from my life.

Headaches, still.

hmmm, i DEFINATELY recommend going to the doctor again, a DIFFERENT doctor. and if your parents wont make an appointment for you, then maybe you should make one. and as for not getting along with your parents, BELIEVE me, i know exactly how that is. your 14, its hard to get along with parents when your a tenager, hell its hard when your older too lol.o yeah, you should get your eyes checked again too. when was the last time you got them checked???
-
ALSO:All the time, especially when reading / looking at white things, or light colored things, I see these grayish dots that follow my eyes, but I can never look directly at them, or they move away.I have had these for years also, how can I get rid of them. I HATE THEM. It makes me stop paying attention because I follow it around.~TO YOUR RESPONSE:I got them checked about 1 month ago.My parents will never change doctors. If I made an appointment I wouldn't be able to get there. It's far, no buses, I'd be grounded, etc, etc.

hunni its time for you to say to your parents that your not well and you need medical attention!!! why the hell would you be grounded for figuring out why you keep having headaches!!! its not normal!!! please try and talk to them, tell them exactly what you said here.

The dots in front of your eyes sound like they may be floaters. Have a look at the linked article. Most floaters are normal, though sometimes annoying. Is there a school counsellor you can talk to about your headaches? Parents take school counsellors more seriously when they say that serious medical attention is required.Yes, it is quite normal to hate a parent or two. We don't choose our parents, and some of them are people we would never choose for the job. Even with the best parents there are disagreements and arguments and mistakes on both sides. Furthermore, in your teens a separation is meant to take place. Parents whom you once doted on are seen differently, and the attitude they had before is no longer appropriate. In the teens you start learning to stand on your own feet, and some parents find it hard to adjust to that. Some feel threatened. Some go into denial. Your parents don't seem to be handling it well.

Oh great, the stupid dots aren't ever going to leave ~I feel like crying, there is so much stuff wrong, how come my other friends aren't as unlucky as I?And also, is there a way to kick my parents in gear and have them handle it better? It's so friggin annoying......

You may find your friends also have problems, though perhaps they don't talk about them.Your parents are going to take more seriously suggestions from people around their own age, so I do suggest you try the school counsellor idea first.
