Well, I tried to apply for a couple of credit cards and nothing will accept me... I have no credit! I've always paid with cash! geez. So what credit card can I get with no credit history whatsoever?

Credit Cards

Do you have a checking account? If you don't have a check/savings account, get one. It's one of your best allies.
Get the 1-800 number off some of those credit card applications and call someone about applying for one. Also, you can just wait and credit card companies will send this stuff to you in the mail saying you're pre-approved. This is usually the way I would reccomend because these companies really want your money and your business so they're more inclined to give you stuff like no interest for a year, cash advances that receive no interest for six months, etc. If you need help you know where to find me.

If you do get one be careful with it. So many people abuse credit and it's so easy for people to get into debt. I agree with Cenfath, get a checking account first. If you don't have one you're not going to get a credit card.

Yeah, I have a savings account but I don't have a checkings account. I guess I should go to the bank and open one up.Truth is I hate credit cards. Everyone in my family has some kind of debt to a credit card. If it was totally up to me I would use cash for everything, but since I need credit for larger purchases it's the only way.I've never gotten any "junk" mail from any credit card companies yet. haha. I wish I did though. I know I'll be saying different when I finally get good credit and everyone is sending me offers. OY!Thanks for the advice Cenfath and Amanda.

Well get a credit card with a low set limit...like $200 or $300 and just use it once or twice a month for some small purchases. Make sure you pay it in full each month, don't pay the minimum. So many people make that mistake.

Yeah, pay in full is the way to go. Less interest that way.I'll be going to the credit union soon to apply for a credit card. Whatever I can get is fine with me. Most likely I'll get a better credit card after a few months.

I couldn't get a credit card until I was in college and I showed that my financial assistance meant I had money to pay my bill so they finally gave me one.If you're not in college, I suggest getting a bank account and keeping a reasonable balance in it. Your bank should be able to issue one, and since you are their customer, they're more likely to give you one than someone that doesn't know you.
