About 3 weeks ago, my pharmacy TOTALLY screwed up. I went for 2 solid weeks without my thyroid pills. Normally something like that wouldn't mess with me too bad except I had just had my period, and I don't take my pills the first couple of days and then bring it back up in order to stop the bleeding (if I stay on them EVERY day, I will have at least a 10 day period). So the timing of the screw up was REALLY bad, as I was just climbing back up.Anyway, I don't have a functioning thyroid anymore, been almost 10 years since they fried it. So, basically, my head wasn't working, nor was my body. Sleep was my best friend. Now, I feel TONS better, but am having a hard time because I am still weak, I hurt my back again yesterday, just screwing with the lawnmower. Will getting extra protein and stuff help me get back to myself any faster? Or do I just need to deal, and get back slowly, after all, it was a few weeks of crashing that got me into this state in the first place.

Regaining strength...

Only a doc can give you advice on this one. Thyroid problems usually mean your metabolism is all wack, so I don't think protein would help. but again, I'm not a doctor. Also, if 'they' fried it, who is 'they?' The doctors? Well, don't go back to that one. You might find some useful info if you do a Google search.

LOL, everyone is thinking that the problem is my thyroid. It went low, but is back up to normal. The problem is, that while it was low, I was in active. 3 weeks of inactivity has caused me to get weaker, is there help to regain strength, or do I just keep trying to build back to where I was sort of slowly? Before I crashed I was lifting about 75-80 lbs again with no prob. Now I am lucky if I can move 50. I know it is basically the same effect as if I took a 3 week vacation to the couch. Just looking for tips to build back up quickly, it is affecting my job.
