As some of you know, I've had a goal to lose weight. I have yet to lose site of that goal. Just having some trouble. I went from 250 down to 235.. A couple months back, then I started eating again, and got back to 245-250... I dropped it off again and now at about 235.. I want it at 190-200. Right now, I want ot look better for school (Sept). I'm having one HUGE problem. I cant stay motivated. Any tips on that? I hit that treadmill.. and after 5 minutes.. I'm like well fuck this.. but I still try to keep at it. Another problem I noticed since I started working out again. My ingrown toe nails get MUCH worse. As much to where I cant even walk (Right now) I got the left foot fixed last night, but missed some of the right foot, now I cant touch it or get in there, so looks like I gotta call the doctor monday Here is what I hope to do, feel free to add to it, take away.. swap.. anything. 1/2 mile a day on treadmill (Manuel one, not powered) 50 jumping jacks20 minutes with a jump ropeand keeping my calorie intake under 2000 a day.and lots of cold water (Heard cold water speeds up metabolism)Is that all seem in place? I'm tired of honestly being fat. Should I take the calories any lower? Monday, I'm going to start the food cutting .. Hope to start exercise ASAP (Toe nail is preventing it right now) .. I just need food ideas too. Sorry for the long post, just I want to look better by Sept. So that gives me a month and 1/2? or so. Thanks guys

screw the tredmill go out side and breath some fresh air... i dunno why but i run a lot better out side than i do inside... i feell a lot more energized and "zen" lol. they have these weights that you can strap to your ankles... get those and speed everything up... it might be a bit tiring but it works i just wanna add: i'm proud of you!

Going outside around here is BAD (Really bad air quality). I'm at 234. I set up a new diet that reduces caliores. Took away mayo, and soda. I'm satisfied with that. So Im on it. I just need to know how to keep motivated.

I had a similar problem when I was younger. I used be about 245 when i was about 16 & all of that was fat. I managed to cut down to 187 pounds by the time I graduated. Now I've bulked up to about 205.The key is motivation and heart. If you dont have the drive and conditioning to stay on a strict eating and exercising routine then you're never gonna lose weight. It's up to you to make yourself stay on routine. Now you say a lil ingrown tonail is stopping you from lifting? Cut it out & relieve the pressure. If a damn toenail is gonna keep you from working out you've got a major hill to climb. I've tore muscles, sprained certain parts of my body, broke fingers, broke ribs, and continued to workout. Naturally all of the injuries are gonna hender what you can and cant do, but to just stop is NOT good. With that out of the way, I'll tell you a little about myself. I took kinesiology (physical fitness) in college until I had to lay off and start workin. I powerlifted in college for 2 years winning a state title in the process. I've trained a high school team to being the strongest in their district. I was trained by thebest coach in the state, and I like to think I know what I'm talkin about.OK, now that you know a little about me, I'm gonna give it to you straight up. This is what you gonna haveta do to see solid results!01) Dont focus so much on calories as much as focussing on what your eating. You'd be better off eating 3000 cals of healthy food than eating 2000 of candy, cokes, and other junk. Cut out sugar! Anything thats high in sugar is off limits. This means cake, candy, sodas, and other foods of the like.02) Cut your carbs to a minimum after 5pm. Excess carbs at night are stored as fat03) WEIGHT TRAIN, a beginner is capable of gaining muscle at an accelerated rate which in turn burns fat at an accelerated rate. Lift 3 times a week hitting each body part at least once, but no more than twice a week.04) Start buyin healthy food. For example, stop with the light bread and whole milk & buy wheat bread and skim milk. Water is better than milk... Buy fat free cheese. Just pay attention to your diet and do the little things05) Eat 6, yes I said 6, SMALL meals a day. This does two things - speeds your metabolism and shrinks your stomach. Its a must for anyone whos serious about getting in shape. Dont eat when you're hungry. Say eat about every 2-3 hours. Eating small will just fill you up for a short enough time to eat your next meal & you shouldnt be that hungry when the next meal comes. This will help you eat smaller amounts.06) EXERCISE, I hate to be rude but I laughed at your routine. "1/2 mile 50jumping jacks jump rope" my grandma could do that. You gonna haveta step it up. Do your cardio 3 times a week BEFORE you eat breakfast. This allows for greater amounts of fat to be burned since you're on an empty stomach. You should get at least an hour of cardio in. I can get 3 miles on a bike in an hour EASY without even tryin. Step it up, you haveta push yourself.Jumproping is good, but you gotta push yourself. You never wanna stop ini between cardio sessions. If you get tired of joggin then hit the rope and vica versa. The key is to keep your heart pumpin.I've wrote a lot but I know I'm leavin somethin out. If you want more info then just let me know. I'll hit on more of your diet before I post this though:-Eat lots of lean meat-NO FRIED FOODS-gallon of water a day-EAT SMALL-NO SWEETS

I don't feel like you need to go on a strict diet. Strict diets never work in the long run. Just watch what you eat and eat in moderation. Like you said cut out the sodas, sweets, fast food or whatever. Doesn't mean you can't have them, but just limit them. A couple of sodas a week isn't going to kill you and fast food once every two weeks isn't either. Try to drink enough water every day...to find out how much water you need take your body weight and divide in half...245/2=122...that's really how many ounces of water you should be having a day

Strict diets always work in the long run. I have to disagree with you on that one. The loose diets where you can have want you want but just ration it wont work in the long run.If you want to build mucsle, lose fat, and stay in shape you HAVE TO stay on a fairly strict diet. I allow a day out of the week to "eat loosely" but then right back on strict diet again. Sometimes you dont have a "free day" After a while of this you will actually lose your taste for certain sweets, and they wont be as desirable for you anymore. If you are just rationing what you eat you will continue to crave the foods you like. So you willalways feel pressure to buy the cakes, cookies, chips, etc etc.FOR example, I was hooked on Coke Colas. I loved them. I drank about a 6pack a day almost everyday. I quit drinkin cokes about 2.5 years ago & have only had a handful of them since. I dont crave or even like cokes now. I can drink them but I would prefer tea or water. The same thing will happen with really sweet candy and stuff. If you extremely cut down your sugar intake over say 2-3 years, you will start to think certain types of candy are too sweet. You are in control of what you eat & you can also cause yourself to adapt to liking new stuff while disliking what you used to eat.

Strict diets work for some, but not most. Most can't live their life on a strict diet and most don't want to. It's not realistic. If you're eating out or whatever once a week like you said, then I don't consider that a strict diet. If you watch what you eat and exercise right you're fine.
-
why dont you consider it a strict diet? you have to stay on routine 6 days out of the week, and then you only have a free meal or two on the 7th day. Sometimes you dont even get a free day. I was just using that as an example.I understand where you're comin from and see what you're talkin about, but the people that cant keep a strict diet generally cant keep the weight off anyway. They'll lose weight for a lil bit, stop the diet, gain it back, and then go again...
-
take weight watchers for example, it's not a strict diet at all and it's something you can live with the rest of your life and still stay fit, you don't have to be strict and cut out everything to stay healthy
-
I agree with you on that. As long as you exercise routinely and keep your meals in moderation you'll definately stay healthy. And eating in moderation will keep you in average shape.I'm just tryin to give advice on a collegaite athlete's level. I guess if you're not trying to get & stay in that kind of shape you really dont haveta worry about being that strict. I forget that not everyone are athletes and just want to stay healthy, my bad.

AHHHHH... Last couple days I been screwing up left and right on diet. So today, I woke up and went NO MESSING UP.. So I eat my lean little sandwhich, everyone else decides they want burgerse and frys So I told them I would go get it, but not ordering anything. So I did, I ended up eating a FEW frys and a little piece of a burger. But I fell good I resisted the temptation. Its one of my favorite burger places

Went to the mall 2-3 hours.. Walking around the whole time (or trying to find my car :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:) .. Burned a few calories
