Touche my good man with the six speed catch. Also, were you looking at the z06?? hehe I'm biased...only corvette worth owning in my opinion. Tops out at about 200+ if you have enough road.

My new car!

Well, I sent my Camero back. It was an automatic, it looked cool from the outside, but I have to admit, the Festiva with the stick is SO much more fun to drive.
There are days though, that I can barely hang on to the stearing wheel, let alone shift because my hands hurt so bad...on those days, the automatic was really nice :frowning: I'm gonna miss it if I have to give up the stick...
-
z28? Or v6? Damn it...see, now y'all have peaked my interest. Fudge!!!
p.s. still waiting for damien to answer my questions
-
just a lame little v6, with T-tops (sorry lisa, we didn't get in a topless ride) but the price was right for me. I really need out of this festiva, but hell, it IS fun to run around in "the smurfmobile".I sent it back cause I bought it from a guy who my sister ended up moving in, and it was causing trouble between her and I....
-
Ah I see. v6 is still a nice car..with the proper changes. Teehee. But I hear those festiva's get like what? 35+ mpg? Especially today that's no joke.
-
I need a tune up. I usually get 50mpg on the highway, but lately only getting 40...But I gotta have it pass smog this month so I will have it back there with the new stuff..lolI think, people getting less, either don't know when to shift, or just don't care..lol Poor thing though, I redline it alllll the time trying to get onto I-5 traffic at 70mph!
-
LOL drive it like you stole it, I say. Yeah seems people wanna rev it out till almost redline, then shift. I wonder how many people realize manuals are meant to get better gas mileage than autos.
-
Not many. My boyfriend was surprised when he got better mileage out of his manual. But he knows now!
I jump my kid for gettin it over 3500rpm before she shifts, there is no need for it on the ranch, it's not like she is trying to get into traffic or anything...lol Just racing a cat or two once in a while
-
Quote: with T-tops (sorry lisa, we didn't get in a topless ride) NOOOOO! That's ok, we can go topless in the sunroof of my Toyota. lol
-
I know huh! My man says I get a newer on when we get on our feet better...I want a Z anyway, and the manual 6spd..Then, we can be toppless, and you can touch my stick..hehePLUS, I got popped a month ago for the window tint...it just didn't seem as neat without it...So, yeah, topless in the Toyota sounds fun till then!

I've been away so I'm late on replying.I'm not planning to do any modifications. My brother is trying to talk me into letting my other brother put a spoiler on it for me. But I am not inclined to do so. I like the sleek look of the car and I don't want the spoiler to make it look to boxy or sporty. As for the other question. It's an automatic. Thing is, on my lit of criteria for a car, automatic transmission was top of the list. I know I'm sacrificing a point or two of MPG, but I am just soooo frikin tired of manual transmission. But it's not the shifting I mind so much. It's the frikking clutching. I've got some pretty whacked up knees and clutches=pain for me, especially when I have to do a lot of driving around town. And for Chance...my nice leather seats will be really easy to clean!

Not true ! I had a 93 SHO. I had a spoiler on it. not tha cheesy stupid fucking shit that kids put on trying to make it look like a space shuttle, just the stock fucking spoiler that was build on teh car from teh factory.low profile, more of a defining edge on the trunk lid than anything, and hardly noticble when viewed from teh side or rear. it had the brake light in it and had maybe 3/8" clearance from the trunk itself.painted to match the rest of the car, it looked fine and not rice.I did however eat fucking rice inthat car.I beat the dog shit out of many vettes, and I never met a turbop I didnt fucking destroy.I had the original chip from a 90 in it, the yamaha DOHC engine, and a ram air. I took that car over 150 on many occasions and it took me seconds to get there.I ate vettes on the start line and didnt have any problems passing them up on the freeway either.never lost to any integra, supra, acura, fucking honda, or any other rice burning piece of shit.I still whoop up on rice in a 79 truck with a 454 under the hood..Got a buddy that picked up a old 79 caddy convertible, that car was fast as fuck when we pulled it into the garage and stripped every body part off it and pulled the engine and tranny to start the rebuild and restore on it.He has a 76 lemans that I rode in many times that blew fuckig ricers off he road, and that was with one motor mount broken.Ill take muscle to rice any day, but for driving and decent miles, Ill have a rice buirner, total stock, no fucking spoilers and lights and stupid shit to try and turn it into a space shuttle.Course if the deal goes through Ill soon be rebuilding a 82 yamaha that will soon be cut for a chopper and I much prefer the 40 mph on that and the smell of the air and leaning into corners and feeling alive to any car.If it goes through and I can get it stripped and rebuilt and chopped in time Ill be taking it up the road some in august to cruise yellow stone park.a thousand miles on a bike is something everyone should experience at some time.

I agree. My Nissan (God rest it's soul) had a spoiler and it looked great. My sister-in-law has a Sentra Spec V with a spoiler. It would look terrible without it. My brother's Alero looks great and sporty with a spoiler. But I agree with blackman that some cars look stupid with them. Like I hate those little pseudo-spoilers they're putting on chick cars...like Neons and stuff like that. You know, the spoilers that are up close to the rear window. And I also agree the spoilers these kids are welding to the back of their Hondas and Toyotas that are higher than the roof of the car. That's a bit redneck. But my car...I just think a spoiler, although it wouldn't look that bad, would make it into a different kind of car.

lol dude he wasn't talking about a stock spoiler. He was talking about the bench wing you see on honda's, acura's and other FWD cars that are placed there for the aesthetics.

I beat the dog shit out of many vettes vettes featuring the lt1 like in '93, weren't all that fast, maybe 13/14 second cars. Also the driver mod was needed..badly.
Lol and when I say "rice" I hope you envision the fast and furious, stickers, mufflers, wing, bad paint jobs, etc. And not just something from Japan/China lol.
However I still maintain a wing on a FWD car is pointless. The spoiler is supposed to create downforce during hard acceleration and in turns. Stock SHO taurus won't need it, neither will any car that's not a 10.99 1/4 or below. But SHO is a nice car...too bad they put an end to them. Them and the svt contour.

[Actually, I wasn't talking about those things at all. I hate those things.
I was actually referring to something a lot closer to stock spoilers. My brother, for some time, had his own business and did modifications for cars for auto dealers. He didn't do the redneck/fast car stuff. He installed spoilers and such on cars for dealers. The spoiler he would put on (if I let him...which I'm not) would be one he would order specially made for a Mazda 626. The same spoiler that the manufacturer would have used if they had put a spoiler on my car when it was new. -
my fault...and still eww. Good call.
-
By the way...here's a picture of my actual car (along with horses) and not just a stock photo.Don't ya think a spoiler would ruin it? My Mazda 626

I wasnt talking a 93 vette, I was talking every vette I raced in the years I owned that car right up through last year when I sold it.Ram air, a new MAF asnd a bored intake and removal of the noise cone and the original chip from the opriginal version SHO that ate the fucking mustang and embarrassed ford into down grading the sedan is hardly stock. My 0 to 50 was just under 4 seconds. In less than 20 seconds I had that car at 140 mph.the spoiler on it was mainly looks and not overbearing. besides all the shti about it putting force on the rear for turning and keeping the ass end heavier on a rear wheel drive car, you also need to remember that the speeds you have to travel to get the benifit of a spoiler, make it pretty much POINTLESS on ANY car, front or rear wheel drive.Currently Im thinking of dumping the 454 in my truck for the next size up buick engine.a simple weld job will let that 460 (is it a 460? thats whats stuck in my head but I thought the 460 was a ford engine ?) Its from a buik 8, a rebuild on that and weld in new motor mounts.... I cant drive past a gas station anyway so whats a few more CI gonna hurt?My only real bitch on that truck is that I get about 11 MPG no matter what, fully loaded, towing, or empty I get the same miles. This is why I only use it for work, but have recently bene looking at some 12 foot campers and start taking it camping when we are doing roadside instead of backpacking in.Why sleep on the ground when Im sleeping 30 feet from the car anyways?I thouth about a trailer but its such a pain in the ass to winterize and store a trailer, and the taxes are higher, a camper would be just fine for what I want so maybe Ill start using the truck more.I forgot where I was going with this post... consider it a tired, rambling rant with little to no point...
