Shaving

Yes, it's razor burn. The skin isn't used to shaving and gets damaged in places, and those places can then get infected.
-
thank you. with good hygiene should infection still be a worry? or should it be fine?
-
The skin always has bacteria on it, and keeping it free from bacteria is difficult. With time, the skin seems to get less damaged by shaving and razor burn and infection become less of a problem.
-
that happened to me the first time, the skin with time gets used to the irritationwhich is basically what everyone else saidI guess there's not much more you can do other than make sure to keep your razor clean and if its worth the irritation then there should be no problem with doing it again

Baby Powder will help with the irritation, and next time use TONS of shaving cream.
-
You don't Need tons, that's just wastefull. The skin needs to be held tight, and shave with a new/sharp razor, after you shave you can wash it with a washcloth or something to sort of expholiate the area, and apply baby powder when you get out. Don't use tons of Shaving Cream, not only will that NOT HELP AT ALL, (you need shaving cream, yes, but not a lot) but you will be wasting money, and fucking up the earth all at once, so only use what you need.

Shaving cream can be helpful, when using an electric razor I don't use onebut I agree, don't use a lot.THAT'S BADI tried that the first time, and it was more of an inconvenience than anything, my crotch itched for 3 days (it wasn't the shaving cream's fault, but still)

To try and cut down on razor burn, I'll put conditioner down there for a few mins as I soap the rest of my body. It seems to help a little.

What the others recommended are good stuff — I would also add that for starters, only shave in the direction of your hairs, don’t shave against it. It will leave a bit of a stubble that way, but that’s good for accustoming.
