Okay, so I've been trying to gain weight for two weeks now. I've been exercising sufficiently; my only problem is the actual knowing of when progress is made. I eat healthy, and have stopped eating things that are too sweet or too greasy, or just unhealthy.I usually eat six times a day, and its been two weeks now and i thought i gained a pound but when i just scaled myself a few minutes before, i was the same as when i started x.X I'd just like to know when I should expect results and how much of the results I'd be getting. I don't really know what my metabolism deal is anymore. I used to think it was fast, but then i found out that it went like this. --> My dad's dad was "normal", or, "naturally muscular." I don't know if i should call him a Mesomorph, though. I didn't know him :[. But, while my dad was in his country, where he hadn't moved to america yet, there was a scarceness of food, meaning he got used to eating small portions, even when he desired more. I suppose he was supposed to be like my grandfather's body type, but I don't know how anything works anymore x.x Now that I'm here, I'm guessing I'm naturally used to not eating a lot as well? As my father was, and i just don't realize when i'm hungry? But i have been trying to eat more. I just don't know. I heard i was supposed to gain a pound or two in a week, but i don't even know if i gained anything! It's been two weeks all ready :[.Here's the list of what I ate yesterday, just in case it is relevant for anyone's reply, i.e. an example:1. Slice of Bread with a container of Green Grapes2. School Lunch -> Taco and Apple Icee3. A bowl of white rice with breadcrumb-sprinkled scallops and a side of noodles4. Some large, asian bakery muffin5. White Bread Turkey Sandwich (2 slices of turkey breast)6. Hero Bread, 6inches; Sandwich of lettuce, salami, turkey, onions.=[. Is it that i'm not eaitng enough?

Eat more!
Seriously, if you're not gaining weight you're not eating enough. Simple as that. You don't have to eat healthy either, I mean it is better that you do, but if your mate offers to take you to McDonalds, eat your healthy dinner AND a large Macca's meal.
It's hard, I know, I struggle to put on weight too, but you just have to keep eating. Try focusing on high calorie foods too. Such as pasta, peanut butter, nuts, bread, potatos, etc. Keep your protein up too if you want to gain muscle (and you're going a good weight routine), but do not skimp on the other macro nutrients.

Looking at your example diet, I'd say you ate... 2000 calories. Try up that to 3000 for a week or two, if you still don't gain weight, bump it to 4000.

I doubt that eating more calories, and therefore putting on fat, is good for anyone who is already eating healthily. If someone is eating good meals and yet is thin, it's probably because that's his proper body shape.
However, katonsuiiton, your diet seems short on fruit and vegetables to me.

so is that to say that the process of gaining weight is just slwoer for me, or is it something close to absolutely impossible, which i doubt? :X

I can only give my experience - I used to be very thin, no matter how much I ate, which was a lot. In my early twenties, though, I noticed that changing, and since then it has become progressively worse. I now eat much less than I used to, but still have more weight than I would like. I believe this is a common experience. So long as you are not anorexic and your body is getting adequate nutrition, being thin isn't bad.If you work out and eat more protein you will put on muscle, which is healthier and looks better than fat.

Thanks a lot; all your replies, even those before this one have always been helpful :]. I'll do exactly just that!

He didn't ask for what was good and healthy, he asked how to put on weight. I answered him.
