Backstory:about 2 weeks ago i noticed all the sudden i had 15-20 small bumps in my pubic area, none were on my penis though. They do not pop and do not have puss in them, nor do they hurt or itch.I am thinking they have become friendly in my pubic hair area because i have started to take an immune suppressant for a skin problem i was born with.picture below shows ithttp://i14.tinypic.com/6boq644.jpg

What is this? +PICTURE, NWS+

Perhaps razor burn (since it seems you shave there), exacerbated by the immune suppression? If you're taking an immune suppressant it will be more easy for skin bacteria to colonise small nicks created my shaving.

i only shaved instead of trimmed that time to get a better look at the spots, sorry should of said that

dude, it looks like the little red bumps you get with either shaving too close and getting those little red ingrown hair bumps as the hair is trying to push back up and grow back or perhaps its just a small heat rash. Do they hurt or itch? does it flare up when your crotch is hot and sweaty from like playing sports? But at first glance it looks like razor burn bumps. Let us know what happens.

The same thing just came up on me myself. Its the middle of a sweltering southern summer, ive just been attributing it to the humidity and heat

I think I may have the exact same "thing" as you, whatever it is. Painless, itchless bumps that don't pop and don't have pus.I noticed a few days ago that I had these red bumps in my groin area, but not on my penis or below. My mind raced towards the worst possible explanation, so I began researching STDs. I'm convinced based on symptoms that if it's an STD, it's HPV. However, the things that lead me away from HPV are the fact that most pictures I've found on the internet don't really look like what I'm seeing. I've seen a few pictures that look sort of similar, but most look pretty different. Also, my sexual circumstances don't exactly scream STD. I'm sexually active, but the only girl I've been with gets tested pretty regularly. In fact, she just came up clean at the beginning of July, and her doctor even recommended the HPV vaccine after coming up negative for it. I don't know how definitive these tests are, and I'm not the only guy she's been with (though she hasn't exactly slept around either), so I haven't ruled out HPV.I went to the doctor today, and he very quickly came to the conclusion that it's folliculitis. He said it's an infection of the hair follicules, so I asked him if he was sure because these bumps and red spots are definitely not limited to hair follicules. He said that the infection can spread to nearby areas. He prescribed an antibiotic, so we'll see how that goes. I was pretty content with his diagnosis walking out of the office, but now that I've gotten back on the internet and done some research on folliculitis, I'm not so convinced that he's right. Everything I've read seems to indicate that folliculitis occurs in hair follicles, and I've read nothing about it spreading surrounding areas (except to surrounding follicles). Also, most places say that the infected follicles are tender or itchy and that they may contain pus. I'm experiencing none of this.I don't know. I'm going to take the medication he gave me and see if it gets any better. We'll see.
