Hey guys Well I started my period yesterday and ever since this morning I've had THE WORST cramps. omg it hurts so bad!!! I get all flushed and I can't stop shaking and I feel like i'm going to throw up. Is there any home remedies or excersices (sp?) or anything that you girls do to help prevent cramps? I hate this

Period cramps

thanks hunn.i read the majority of it, i clicked on the first link, but i cant quite understand what it is. im not very smart today oh, and more stuff wrong with me :pain in the breasts, BAD mood swings, dizzyness, and i seem to be a lot hungrier and bloating. and it keeps feeling like i have to use the washroom and i HATE it.and now i think i twisted my neck the wrong way and it hurrrts not that it really has much to do with my period. lol

i think i took a bit too much meds.... about 3 hours ago i took two ibuprofin, and it didnt help much, so i just took 2 midol..
it sucks because i think im kind of allergic to midol because last time i took it, i took a lot and i kept shaking and shit and it felt like i was highg  but it helps the pain in my belly.
god i hate this so much :frowning: im just thankful that i dont have to work today. thanks for your help though hunn  is there anything else i can do? like sleep? lol
i feel so bad because i saw my mom today and we could only go out shopping for like 45 minutes because i was in so much pain. i could barely even see her, and now i feel like a dooshbag :frowning:
:EDIT:
i know that two days ago i had REALLY bad allergies so i took a pill in the morning then i bought another kind and took 2 more, and they caused me to get really drowsy. could that harm me now because i took more pills? im so dumb :frowning:
-
o i love green tea
i dont normally take so many pills, ive just been in a lot of pain. and i always drink water  id say i drink about 2-3 litres a day, or more.

I can't take Midol. It makes me feel really dizzy and yucky and then I want to vomit. Maybe that's what is making you feel so bad.
-
Wikipedia article on Midol - there are three different kinds.
-
Mabye you should ask your doc about getting on the pill?Im on my period (pretty bad one) & im baking brownies.Ya want one??

aw man.. I HATE period pains, hate hate hate them, myne get so bad on the first day of my cycle that i cant walk, i shake constantly i throw up and get migraines they are baaaad!the only thing that helps me is paracetamol and sleep, (with a hot water bottle) lol, but then sometimes wen i wake up its still the same, they say to eat fruit and do stomach crunches to ease the pain, but to be honest, when your feeling that shit, who wants to start excersising?? lol
-
THANKS GOD IM NOT A GIRL ... sounds painful
-
If you ask any man who's been in a long-term relationship or married, they will tell you that they suffer through that time of the month also, lol.
-
Can you get feminax over there? It works really well for me!!
-
I heard aleve is good, but by itself, without all the other stuff
-
Ginger works well.
-
Yeah, Aleve works pretty well for me too... And a lot of times Midol makes me all weird too (actually, a lot of other people seem to really enjoy me when I take it, apparently I'm a riot), along with a couple other cold medicines. Just plain old walking sometimes helps, running FEELS like it helps until you stop (and then you DIE, especially if you get a stitch... HOLY COW) and some stretches help... For lower back pain, while standing, I bend forward, trying to touch the floor with my finger tips, and then when I get as far down as possible without bending my knees, I let my whole upper body relax and hang there (make sure your neck and shoulders are relaxed, a lot of times people don't notice when they are tensed). For stomach pain, I sometimes stand a little bit aways from a wall, not facing it. I put my hands over my head and then back, onto the wall (finger tips facing down). Then I "walk" down the wall with my hands, until I touch the floor (you might kill yourself if you try this at first, just stop where you feel comfortable), while adjusting the distance between myself and the wall whenever I need to with my feet. Then I walk back up... If you can't walk back up, that's okay, just go ahead and sit down.

um, I'm not allowed to take any drugs, any other ideas besides that and tea which I'm making now
-
Are you reffering to Aleve and Mydol? Are you taking caffeinated tea?
-
yeah. if it's a pill I can't have it.and yes I think it was caffeinated. it's peppermint tea
-
Try eating pineapple (Bromelain does a body good). Try to cut down on salt and caffeine about 6 days before your period starts.
Light exercise and yoga can help. But it's more than just a "during your period only" thing.
EDIT: I forget to mention vitamin E. Remember, maintaining your body is just as important, if not more important, as treating your body when something is wrong with it.
