Can you do "too many" crunches? I mean /i konw you could if you did an insane ammount, but I mean say 2000, is that too many in one day? and at that pace how long will it take to start to get a 6-pack?I have the time, and the determination to get a good 6-pack going (it's sorta a present for my girl =])

Crunches....crunches....

Crunches alone won't give you a six pack. That comes with diet and aerobic exercise. If you do a search in this forum, I'm sure you'll come up with all the information you need.

Mind I carry on with the OP...im not fat, actually rather skinny. I have that "fat" layer as well but I know its really thin. What sort of exercises would get rid of it quickly? Would running miles every day work (1-3 or later 1-5 work?). I been thinking about starting that since I can do 1-3 on my own now. Still, but if I did the running still crunch *ya sorta offtopic but still related =P * ^^

It also depends your alimentation

Yes, running every day will help. Also, you need to have the proper diet. Lay off the greasy foods, candy and sodas and take in lots of water.

if you do good old fashion crunches you will end up with messed up six packs. your top 2 will be like the twin towers the next two will be foot ball stadiums and the rest will be tiny. they will grow large enough that they will take over the muscles of your smaller lower abs and love handles making it harder to get the toned look and you end up with just a large 4 pack. you want to do 20-20-20-20 as my old football couch (sp?) would call it where you do 20 curls with your feet in the air and but off the ground (you will feel it in the lower abs rather then upper) then do 20 diagonal curls both ways and finish it off with 20 regular. this will give you the toned abs you want and the least chance of having off centered and weird shaped abs. i stopped playing foot ball and lost my "six pack" (was really, really messed up looking with the muscles not even in line or the same size [think 400+pound woman losing 200 pounds tits]) but i researched it out and thats what i found out. sry i rambled like shit but im tired. one last thing if u do 2000 curls fast you wont build good muscle. you want to work out everything slow. try to take 1 second going up hold for 1 second down for 1 second.

It also depends your alimentation What?

It's French; it basically means the act of supplying food or nourishment. Or food sources that nourish the body.

You could, but the ab muscles can be worked out every day as opposed to other muscle groups.

Stupid but effective trick- I do calf-raises (not sure if that's the right term, that's what they were called in PE) every time I brush my teeth. It's silly, but it's a habit that keeps my calves decent and also helps to make sure I brush for long enough.Anybody I've shared this with in real life seems to like the idea and a few have adopted it, so I figured I'd share it with the world, ha ha.

Calves are the single most painful muscle to induce severe hypertrophy in, closely followed by abs. I remember back in the day before I stretched, warmed up or anything I did a really intense session of calves. It was agony to walk for half a week.
Abs are painful too simply because you forget how often you use them, and you constantly get unexpected pain. It's a good wake up call first thing in the morning when climbing out of bed.

lol...it sounds especially intimidating because I have only vague ideas as to what 75% of those exercises ARE.I agree walking lunges are a waste of time, but I do think that they'd suck after shitting yourself.

Me and ny 8.6% body fat at 6ft and 140lbs have a nice six pack...how? By doing nothing at all.You can increase definition by focusing excersises on different parts of ur abs (top, bottom and sides with excersises on the link off the top of the fitness forum) the same way as other muscles its about quality not quantity. For example ur not gonna build mega biceps by repping a pencil a million times for example, its a few bigguns. Since i dont work my abs i cant give specifics but im sure u'll work it out, its not that hard once you understand how ur body works.
