But I'm not causing trouble, I say so myself. And according to my previous post, I am never wrong!

There's a bunch of Christians out there called the "name it and claim it" group who think just like you do.

Oh no! You've discovered my horrible secret! Damn me and my Christian beliefs!!

I once believed my brain was the most important organ in my body. Then I realized, wait...look who's telling me that!

I had the exact same experience, except it was my penis.

I just want to point out that this statement could easily be switched to this:

I think you need to get a firm grip on that penis of yours, bob.

I dunno, I used to but it never really seemed to solve anything. Now I've just decided to leave it alone and hope it leaves me alone.

That's cute...would be even cuter if it were true.

Oh, you getting in there again!?!?!How is it different? How does the education system force things upon people MORE than the church does? The education system doesn't claim evolution as fact, altho people misinterprets it as so, it is a theory and forever shall be as with all things in science. The Church does claim creationism and the Bible as more than just fact, but as the word of God Himself! Now I find that adorable!

The Church does claim creationism and the Bible as more than just fact, but as the word of God Himself! Now I find that adorable! My opinion is my own...there are some things most churches would agree with...and some they might not. But to cry "evolution" and invoke the unproven (and for good reason) "natural selection" as reasoning is straight out of the "education" system...not requiring any individual thought (though it doesn't mean said thought never took place...but I don't believe in coincidences, especially in light of the lack of evidence supporting natural selection.) And while nobody is required to go to church, all are required to participate in the education (or should I say indoctrination) system. The fact that so many swollow an unproven theory and present it as an argument (which only has validity if one assumes it is fact) against something else is testimoney to the effectivness of said "education" system, indeed.Christians believe what they do based partially on faith, not solely on evidence...so unless an evolutionist is willing to admit to a requirement for faith in natural selection, he or she has no valid argument to make, since scientific (factual) arguments require evidence and there is none.
-
Quote: Christians believe what they do based partially on faith, not solely on evidence...Partially? There is absolutely no evidence for Creationism apart from the fact that stuff exists! It is a 100% faith based story. And I'm sure your education system has a play in teaching people about evolution, but what about me? I was never in my life taught about evolution, Irish schools don't teach it, yet I trust it as being the most likely theory. There is evidence for it, not just evolution but for Natural Selection as well! So will ya stop saying that there is no evidence for it, you just choose to ignore it! But of course, ignoring facts is the basis of the creationist argument!

There is loads upon loads upon loads of evidence for natural selection. Here, I'll give an example in the form of today's modern apples. Originally, apples were only one inch in diameter, as opposed to the three inch diameter that they have today. Once the Chinese were able to develop the idea of grafting trees, the possibility of domesticating apples was possible much more so than before, as now it wouldn't take forever to grow apple trees. Using this technique, they were able to find the apple trees with a genetic mutation that caused their apples to be more apple and less seed and would choose those trees to use for future apples. The genetic variations that caused these apples to become larger and therefore be eaten more by people is an example of natural selection. Because a genetic mutation made these apples larger, they were better suited to spread their seeds and multiply because it was the trait that made more humans eat them. There are loads upon loads of evidence supporting evolution, and absolutely no evidence that strongly says it can't be so. Whereas with religion there is no evidence supporting it at all other than some old book and countless amounts of evidence against it. You've probably never done any true research on evolution, or you wouldn't make such stupid and baseless claims.Christians believe what they do completely on fath. Sure, maybe some faith is required in believing a theory has a strong chance of being correct as to the many examples and evidence behind it, though there is no way to be 100% sure other than going back in time. However, this amount of faith required to believe in evolution and natural selection is infinitely smaller than the amount of faith required to believe in most religions. And yes, the church does force it's views on you, through your parents when you were a young child. Most people who didn't go to church didn't get religion stuffed down there throats that the adults called facts. This causes children to get an unthinking faith in something. This is much like stuff that's been done in countries with very strong governments, like China. Tiananmen square is considered by many of the younger generation living in mainland China because they were never informed about it, ever. There was even a group of writers in China who made a little blurb for the newspaper to all those mothers there of the victims of the same date as Tiananmen square. The editor that made sure nothing bad was put in the newspaper was young and didn't even know anything significant about that date. Those editors were fired, though they claimed it was about a mine accident that had happened on that same date. Another example is North Korea. In the textbooks and teachings the students are told that it was Kim Jung Il that ended the war, not the nucleur weapons used by the U.S. The children believe it and go along with that 'fact' in their minds for most of their life. In my opinion, this is the same tactic used by any religion that forces their religion down the children's throats. This has gone way off-topic, then again, the posts above mine are already way off-topic.
