I was diagnosed with IBS with diarrhea about five years ago, (I am 23)and given medication to help it. I don't often use the medication because it only flares up about once or twice a week and whenever I take it I get severly constipated for a few days (which leads to more pain and problems) My question is, I had a greasy burger at one o'clock today, (I haven't eaten a burger like this in over six months) and saw the lettuce about three hours later when I started getting sick from it. That burger did not sit well at all and gave me horrible diarrhea. Anyway, is that normal for lettuce to go through my body so fast? This was the first time I had eaten any lettuce in over a month so I was very curious if this was normal or not.

Three hours later!?

As far as what's normal, I don't know. But lettuce usually goes through me faster than other foods do. So..

I have IBD. Lettuce doesn't set well with me either. My advice is to stay away from greasy foods and other foods that are 'bad' for you.

This is just some advice on calming your stomach, my GF had an upset stomach after eating at Soup Plantation.
My neighbor gave me some ginger for her. I sliced it up, boiled it for ten minutes, and server it to her over ice (so she could drink it). It helped her right away, hope it helps you too.
