id really like to get rid of some of my baby fat. its quite annoying. im not over weight or anything( i think) im about 5'5 and 140 lbs, im pretty sure its normal. but id like to be a tiny bit skinnier. any suggestions? i was thinking of taking my kayak out on the bay more often, but i dont know if that would be enough. also, school is starting up soon and im gonna be in 2 gym classes(because i failed a few freshman classes and i had 2 englishes instead of 2 gyms last year) and im worried about getting tired too easily. while im waiting for school to start, what kinds of exsersizes should i do? our classes involve a lot of running, possibly lifting for my junior class, and a crapload of annoying sports that i dont like. i dont wanna wear out too easily!

Well I am practically just the same size (5'8/140lb) as you and im guessing same age by grade (15 gonna be 16 jr)...and I actually want to do the same thing as you! The only thing was I have been lazy this summer...well lazy for schedules, not for the outdoors. But if you want one suggestion from me to lose fat, I can almost 100% tell you that running is the absolute way to do it. Last year I didnt have time to run so I did situps and pushups (lotta good that did tho...) but yeah running is the way to go.

thanks alot, i might try that since im gonna have to do it in school anyway. and no, im already 16 lol

Heres one quick tip though...if you ware yourself out by overdoing it in the beginning you are not gonna want to run unless you have some SERIOUS will power lol. I started at a mile a day, but then it involved running the mile to the track and then on it for a mile. I slowly increase increments. Right now if I try I prolly could do 5 but I donno cause i really have been lazy over the summer.

5 miles??? um.. i can run about 100 feet i think.. lmao.. well, maybe a tiny bit more, but i know i cant even get around the block

oh i still do, i love being out on the bay. when i asked about doing it more often i meant like pushing my limits and doing it more than i already do. i dunno im not making much sense, im not good at explaining things, but i hope you get the point

i guess it is time for me to stop being a lazy bitch, thanks for the inspiration

doesnt kyaking do the same type of things as push ups (im not sober and hyper so might be making stuff up just vaugly recalling something) where it will make muscles toner and denser but not stronger because its high reps and fine muscles not quickness or heavyness? like if you do stuff really fast you will make your muscles better for quick things, lack of better word twitchs while going slower and heavier will make your muscles larger and stronger but not as fast. so add that too kyaking does not get you breathing strongly wouldnt you not burn fat? this did not make any sort of sense reading through it but is there any truth in what i said?
-
i have no clue what the hell you just said..so.. umm.. come back and explain when you're sober maybe?
-
lol thanksi was planning on going after dinner if im allowed

I'm only a little bit bigger than you, 5 9 and 145, but yeah running definitely helps everything. Last year I had a gym teacher than LOVED to make her kids run, so even though it was annoying as hell I ended up losing like 15-20lbs over 9th grade. Over the summer I actually havent been working out like I did, so I gained some back. I have a membership to a gym, but dont go often because I cant always get a ride there, since I dont have a car, and it kinda sucks cause everyone there is like way older than me.
