So, as the worldwide celebrations die down, it should be mentioned that the church that St. Patrick brought to this country is being rejected on a huge scale. Outrage over revelations made in the last 20 years, including a very severe case recently, has converted a lot of the country from Catholics to Christians.Anybody else have views on this stuff?

Happy St. Patrick's Day?
-
my landlord called today to tell me I'm being evicted MondayHappy S.P.D.(I don't know if the landlord is Catholic but I feel like a choir boy now)
-
Very sorry to hear that.
-
Thats pretty shit. I'm sure you've got a few people willing to put you and little U up for a while, right?
-
we won't end up on the street but just about everything I own will.
-
Maybe I missed the explanation, but are you out of work?
-
Yeah...what's the deal?
-
been out of work for ages. I'm one of the white collar victims of the recession and therefore, it seems, totally on the outside of any of the programs put in place.
I'm working now (a straight commission, contract position because that's all that's left in my world) but it's too little too late. In a few months, I should be sailing along again but will have lost just about everything first.
The bulbs are starting to come up in the garden. My ex, my son and I have puttered in that garden for 12 summers -
I know you probably already explored all the possibilities, but did you talk to the landlord and explain your working now?
-
yeah, I told them. Of course, their completely confused by the commission/contract thing too. She asked me why I wasn't getting a cheque every week if I'm working, even suggested I take them to the labour board.
I guess if all you know is working in a factory or at a coffee shop, the reality of "grownup careers" is pretty confusing.
