What happens if you fail grade 12/don't graduate? The next year do you go back to the same school and repeat? What do you do, or what are the choices?

Failing Grade 12

My guess would be you stay back until you make up all the credits you need to pass, and complete all the classes u need to pass, than you receive your diploma. Or you could go on Independent Studies.

I dunno what it's like over there, but here in Australia you go do an apprenticeship and make a ton of money. More than most Uni graduates.

Quote:What happens if you fail grade 12/don't graduate?Basically, you suffer through life. It's not impossible to survive, but it's going to be very, very hard. Quote:The next year do you go back to the same school and repeat? That depends on your school, I think. I believe that once you hit 18 (since you're considered a legal adult), you won't be able to repeat the 12th grade. Go to your school and talk to your counselor. Quote:What do you do, or what are the choices? 1) Get a job. But if you don't live with your folks, you better get two. I wish you good luck with that though because finding a job for a drop-out is hard. Or at least, the good jobs.2) Go to adult school. Basically, high school for adults. Get your GED at least. That's my advice. And once you do, go to a community college.3) Vocational school. A good idea, but an expensive one. You're going to owe the state money because most likely you'll need financial aid and those schools only take loans.

I know someone who failed their senior year. They just repeated it like you can repeat any other year. From what i've heard, a person can remain in the school as a regular student until they're 21. Most people just usually choose not to go that route. And i'm sure there are a few options.

Yup, you can just repeat it over again. Or...Get your Good Enough Degree and continue from there...or...just continue to live life working or whatever or adult school.I graduated with several 19 year olds so being 18 has very little to do with it I think.

There was a kid in my Highscool a few years back who didnt grad so he stayed an extra semester to make up the credits. So if you need to im sure you could do that.
-
I'm kind of afraid, I don't think it will happen though. I'm not quite there yet.

Put all your energy into doing well, and you will.If you spend all your time worrying instead of doing, you won't do well. Your worries will come true."Worry is like a rocking chair, you can do it all day long, and it gets you nowhere!"
