ok, so, i have a slight acne problem, like i use stri-dex for it, and it works and all, but it comes back within a few days. i regulate my sugar/fat/calories and things, even though my mom says i dont, but is there anything stronger than the acne pads, like maybe cream or something like that? like ive heard good things about the clearasil from some of my friends, any advice from you guys as to what works best?

Acne solutions?

I've found using the acne facial scrub creams you can buy are a good investment. I use the 'micro-bead' (or whatever they call it) paste/cream once every couple of days; it really helps kill zits, eliminates the blackheads and generally gives me a better looking face. (God knows I need it, lol)

If you feel like trying something different, you could use the aspirin mask. I use it every night and seems to really help to reduce redness and kill zits. Just take a few aspirins, crush them up, add aloe or some other soothing cleanser, apply to all affected areas, and let it dry. If you notice a zit coming on, you can apply a little dabble of the aspirin mask on it, and leave it over night.

One thing I have noticed with the aspirin mask, is that it only seems to make the pimples peel, not the rest of my skin.

Aspirin isn't salicylic acid, it's acetylsalicylic acid. The acetyl group makes a big difference - salicylic acid tends to erode the glue that sticks cells together, hence its use for treating warts. Acetylsalicylic acid doesn't have that property. However, aspirin does slowly hydrolyse in moisture back to salicylic acid. Old tablets may have salicylic acid crystals visible on them, and give you a stomachache if eat them.

Well, for girls only, duh, but you could try birthcontrol if your acne is really bothering you. Some forms are supposed to help clear your face.
