Basically, Diabetes is this:Your body needs insulin to regulate sugar levels in your body. People with diabetes either don't produce any insulin (type 1), or produce not enough (type 2). I have Type 1 btw. What causes diabetes? In Type 1, nothing. Your pancreas (the thing that makes insulin) just randomly stops making insulin. I think it can be genetic, but no one in my family has ever had it, so it can also just randomly stop making insulin.Type 2 is usually for overweight people who eat so much sugar (let's say carbohydrates, is more exact) that their body can't keep up, so I think the pancreas either shuts down or just can't make enuogh insulin to cover all the carbohydrates. I know that if you start taking better care of yourself, your pancreas will eventually be up to par again.Type 2 people have pills and things like that they can take for insulin. No such thing for Type 1 (only shots or insulin pump).Yeah... so your blood sugar should ideally stay in the perfect range (100-120) which is why people say you need to be careful about what you eat. Really, you just need to make sure that you give yourself enough insulin to cover any carbohydrates you ate.

I have an insulin pump, so yes

And I think you said you were a skinny guy, right?
-
Yes, pretty skinny. I have trouble gaining wait, no matter how much I eat (when I used to be able to eat a lot, that is)So today went ok... finally got to eat again, so that's always good.Got paid at my 2nd job and hurried to the store (they were almost closed) to buy just a few things and put $20 in my car ...

Some days I'm just more down than others. Right now I may be down about certain things, but it seems ok.I figured out I can basically just use all the money I got today (less than $200) as money for myself, which I desperately needed. The only thing that still needs to be paid this month is rent, and I'm unfortunately going to pay that late no matter what, so I jsut figured I could use this money to buy some of the things I need. It's a good feeling knowing that I can buy food now if I need to.

Squirrel some of it away.Don't take this the wrong way, but I'm not stupid. I put away $85 of it for my rent (which is $385)> Are you ready to get a bank account yet?Uh, yeah, I already have one. I owe the bank $200 and I put in $10 about 20 minutes ago... just to let them know that I do plan on paying back. I've been in the negative for about a month now, and I haven't been able to pay anything back, but I figured at least $10 for now would help. I plan on paying them back everything within the next two weeks, so that's good..It'll be nice to be able to use my credit card again, whcih I haven't touched in a month simply because I couldn't.

I think we have a lot in common, StillSearching. My first job was at Subway... and I think we're both the same age. PM me your MSN or something, we should chat. We both seem to be going through the same shit.
