Does anyone know about Epilepsy?Apparently, one of my friends has it, but he’s very hesitant about telling people (he says people treat him different when they find out) and I didn’t know he had it until last night when he had a seizer in front of me, his oldest daughter, and another friend of ours. It scared me to death! He said he hasn’t had one since he was a kid (he’s 28 now). Can someone just give me some information on it if they know anything? I’d really like to learn more about my friend’s condition. I mean I've heard about it, I've known people who have it, but I'm really not sure what it is exactly. I'm just curious

It's no longer recommended that you try to put something in their mouth, as it usually makes things worse. The wikipedia article on epilepsy has a good section on responding to a seizure.

Lol i took a look at the wiki and I always thought you could swallow your toung from what I heard from people.

Hopefully he wears a medic alert bracelet; otherwise it makes treating him a real SOB.

We were on four-wheelers driving around having fun when we decided to stop so he and my other friend could have a smoke break. He complained of being hot and feeling really strange, so he got off the four-wheeler and started walking around; he started swaying and stumbling and then he just hit the ground. His eyes just went blank and his body went limp and after he hit the ground he started shaking and twitching. It scared all of us!Thankfully it happened when he wasn’t driving because he could have wrecked and killed himself and his child. He was rushed to the emergency room as soon as we got him home. He’ll be going to a neurologist sometime this week to be positive it was a seizure he had.
