-
Yeah, that is sad.
-
Very sad news, he was an awesome opera singer.
-
Hi Everyone!! That is sad news. I treated my mom, my aunt and a 'girlfriend' to 'The Three Tenors Bringing in the New Year' concert in Vancouver, B.C. It was very good. We had boxed seats. It cost an arm and a leg. GREAT BIG HUGCraig!!
-
Was he the same guy who just got out of surgery, or some medicale scare? Or was that just someone else I'm thinking of? I don't know.
It's sad news to see him gone, though. What talent and skill he had. :frowning: Surely he will be missed.
-
He had pancreatic cancer, which is a particularly nasty one.A magnificent voice.
-
Indeed a magnificent voice.I have this real fear that as folks like Povaratti and John Lennon and Frank Sinatra, and before too long Joni Mitchell and Leonard Cohen and others, die there will be no one of their talent to replace them. All we're getting know are the Justin Timberlakes and Akons and Gwen Stefani's. This scares me.RIP music...

Well, at least we still have Damien Rice. I saw him live about 2 weeks ago, the man is fucking brilliant!
-
omg. someone who knows Leonard Cohen. I take back every bad thing I ever said to you. lol

Yes! I saw him back in May. It's the third time I've seen him, and the third time he didn't have Lisa with him! But still, as you say, brilliant. (Did he do the cool 'Cheers Darling' wino schtick when you saw him?)
Are you familiar with Josh Ritter? I'm wondering because, despite the fact that he's from Idaho, his career basically took off in Ireland. He's very well know around those parts apparently.

I love Frank Sinatra!Music has really gone down hill in my personal opinion. There seems to be very few songs that actually have any meaning now days.

my poppy loved him. He'd be heartbroken if he passed away when my pop was alive. I guess now they're together in heaven.
-
I listen to Sinatra in the office from time to time.He sends me to my happy place.Although the Mayberry co-workers don't quite know how to respond to someone who actually listens to Sinatra.
-
Heh, most people I know are shocked that I even know who Sinatra is, much less listen to him! Imagine that, someone not knowing who Frank is... that's like... musical blasphemy!
