Ok. So I've been diagnosed with Molluscum contagiosum as of yesterday. My Dr. told me atleast 5 times that it's not Sexually Transmitted. Is it?... 'cause everything I've read points to it being sexually transmitted. He also put some kind of acid on the "warts"(around 18 of them altogether) is that a normal practice? Cause every "wart" is swollen, a bit painful, filled with pus and is about the size of a dime. Thanks.

This includes sexual contact or touching or scratching the bumps and then touching the skin. Handling objects that have the virus on them, such as a towel, can also result in infection. The virus can spread from one part of the body to another or to other people. Molluscum contagiosum is contagious until the bumps are gone—which, if untreated, may be up to 6 months or longer.Yahoo! Health: Molluscum Contagiosum My best guess is that it can be passed through sexual contact since your skin is touching against your partner's. But it's not a STD.

What is the time-factor as to when symptoms first show? If that is know.
