So im 17 and im on Independent Studies (Its like Homeschool) and i work during the days. Unlike other 17 year olds i dont engage in many dating relationships, i dont party or anything. I like to work , train MMA, and come home and do homework and relax. I play alot of video games at home also and it makes me feel guilty like i should be partying and stuff like the other kids, and sometimes it just makes me sad and makes me feel like im not living my life like i should. I do go out and hangout with friends and do fun stuff just not as much as other kids i guess. Sometimes i will be playing Xbox and i feel like i shouldnt be so i will just turn it off and stop playing it. I guess its just cause most teens would say "you have no life" so i turn it off. I just needed to get that off my chest...sorry.

You should consider joining some kind of group, like dancing (kind of girly, but yeah, that's the whole point... girls, and it can be manlier dances, like, I don't know, swing or salsa), or karate, skiing, hockey, chorus, band, bungee jumping, rock climbing, or something else you are interested in doing.

Well i do MMA(Mixed Martial Arts) which is pretty much everything. Wrestling, Jui Jitsu, Boxing, Sambo, etc.

I'm similar in a small way. I'm a 21-year-old college student; I don't drink or smoke and I don't like the idea of clubbing or late night partying. Just not my style.Sometimes I think if I'm missing out on my life, seeing I'm still pretty young. But then I quickly realize that that's not me. I'm more of a easy-going person who perfers a quiet life. I rather go to a movie or to the beach. And right now, I don't have much to complain about and I'm pretty happy, so I try not to think about it so much. Plus, I can't compare my life to someone else's.I don't think you should have to feel guilty. If you feel like you're missing out on life, then go out and try something different. You'll never know what else you might enjoy. But you shouldn't have to do the same thing like other people are doing. If you're not a party-goer or whatever, you should've have to change who you are.I can understand about just coming home and play games or whatever. I'm the same way when I had a long day at school or work. Like I said, I'm the quiet type of person who enjoys a bit of personal time. You work and you have hobbies and you study. No one can say you don't have a life because you do.

I guess its just cause most teens would say "you have no life" so i turn it offI'm sorry, but that's stupid. Why do you stop doing something you enjoy just because some random immature people would say you have no life? You really shouldn't worry about what other people say like that. But you're 17, and I can understand how shit like that matters more than other things.

Ive always cared about what other people think waaay to much. I should care more about what i think. And Virtual Star thanks for the reply. Its nice to know that other young people like to just come home and relax.

I should care more about what i thinkYou just shouldn't care about what other people think. But I know how cruel kids can be these days, so it's hard to be "different" than the usual teen crowds.I hope for your sake that you eventually stop caring so much what other people think as you grow older and start meeting some more mature people than that.

Okay, ask yourself this... Am I having fun? If you aren't, try and find something to do that you'll enjoy. But if you are, then that's just your type of personality.

Everybody needs to do what makes them happy, and not listen to how others think they should, look, act, live their lives. IF you're happy with who you are and life in general then who cares what you think you should be doing cos of what other people say or do.A time may come when you dont' want to do what you are doing and become more social or find a group of friends you like to hang out with and do that, however it will be when you choose, and that will be the time for it.IF playing the games is a bit excessive, like hours and hours, maybe that isnt' a good thing, and maybe moderate it a little, fill in the time doing something else, YOU LIKE........you're only 17 hon don't hide away but don't beat yourself up about how you are now, there is one constant thing in life and that is that we change, a lot as we grow up, what suits you know might not suit you in a years time.
